Computer types-- 2 screens?

It's got information on the card that's right for you. They also have great customer reviews!

Good luck. By the way, if you go cheap, you comprimise video quality. You obviously have a little money in your pocket if you have two monitors, so don't skimp out!

Even some of your high $ video cars have two outputs.

1 - DVI
1 - analog

Now I've not tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

If you're computer is relatively new, it might already be configured for it.

I have a docking station for my laptop so I have a separate monitor when docked. When docked, I can operate on either monitor, have both show the same thing, or have them act like a continuous desktop where I can have different stuff on each screen and move back and forth between them as if they were 1 very wide monitor.

MACs sux!

Why do I stand behind that?

I used to be Windows Network Engineer for 8 years. Nuff said!

I used to work with Windows in the software dept of a PC manufacturer. Nuff said!

It does work. Those cards usually come with a DVI to VGA adapter. If they don't you can always buy one if needed. I have worked with a number of different dual video output cards.

The DVI connector may optionally contain:
- An analog channel.
- 1 or 2 digital channels.

Common permutations are:
- DVI-A: analog channel only.
- DVI-D: 1 or 2 digital channels, no analog.
- DVI-I: analog and 1 or 2 digital channels.

A DVI-D cannot be used with a DVI to VGA adapter, because there is no analog channel.

You don't go around hearing people say that they're a mac engineer. We rule the world my friend, accept it or die. lol

Try again. I've used Solaris/FreeBSD/Linux/NetBSD/OpenBSD since the early 90's. I only started using a Mac 3 years ago when I bought my first laptop.

Al Capone was also rich. That means he was doing good, right?

Someone telling me they are a "Windows Engineer" gets the same laughter from me. It took me five years at an accredited engineering school to earn the right to call myself an engineer.

MACs are fine for home use...and they kick ass at graphics/media work...however....they SUCK at enterprise support and deployments. Which is why winblows has won the desktop.
Unix has been "the best os" for the past 25 years and I still don't believe that...unless you are an uber-geek, unix is a pain in the ass to use and support...as proven by unix salaries. It does have some awesome niche uses though.
MAC has tried the corporate enterprise and server environments...no success there.

They are all only tools people...we can all use different brands of tools!

MACs will perish. lol

I am going to have to disagree here. I think they have their following and purpose. As it has been mentioned, for general home use, they are great, for Graphics they are superior.

But in corp America they cannot stand up. I have worked in various environments, and most of the time it was ALL PC unless there was a marketing department.

After having tried to support my non-geek friends with the home PC's I have decided that those people need mac's. Most people a Mac is fine for home use. Course I say that as I am not a Mac geek, and just say sorry cant help you :D

I spend all day fixing computers, I want to not do that when I get home. ;)

Oh I was just referring to the mostly to the users desks in general, not the server side. That is a WHOLE other animal ;) I know multi environments can and are done on a regular basis. But general joe user doesn't usually need much more then the PC to do his job. It is the applications themselves that require the back end to be a melting pot of technology that sometimes just don't want to play nice :D
