Snow in Denver

I have a suitcase here at work, I was told yesterday that we will not be going home tonight to ensure the management team is in the office tomorrow.>:(

You have SERIOUSLY got to be kidding. These people have lost all sense of perspective. You have to get out of there.

I can't even get ahold of United Airlines to change my flight even though the recording when you call "strongly urges" you to change to an eariler flight. >:(

Maybe you should go out to the airport and try to get onto another flight there at the counter. I think the phones are a lost cause.

I finally got ahold of them. It took calling over and over again, then waiting on hold for half an hour. I'm flying out tonight instead of tommorow. I hope it doesn't get too bad for the next 10 hours or so.

Ohhh--good luck! I hear it has already started snowing down in the Larkspur area.

It's snowing like mad in Highlands Ranch. I'm watching C-470, to let Derek know when he absolute needs to get on the road to get home.

We were smart this time though, Sherpa is not in his crate they have a ton of water and should be able to miss a meal or two just fine. If they have an accident I have laminate floors so it should be easy to clean.

Derek needs to pick you up on his way out. I don't care WHAT they say, it's unreasonable for you to have to spend the night so someone will be there tomorrow. But I'm glad Sherpa is taken care of.

here...we...go....again....

This is getting old

I guess now you're complaining? lol

Let me explain; Once you move to CO, it is your civic duty to complain as long and loud as possible about the snow, when speaking to non-CO people. The purpose is to discourage anyone else, (especially Texans and Californians), from moving into CO. ;)

I just got back from picking up my skis from Christys at Flatirons. They tell me one of their reps is stuck on I70 because it is shutdown from Georgetown to the tunnel. Dammit! I was planning to ski Loveland tomorrow! >:(

[fit of jealousy] HAHA [/fit of jealousy] :D

Sigh, there is no snow here..not that I have mountains to ski. Temps have been hovering in the upper 30's low 40's here for awhile...none of the white stuff that I like. [:/]

I just received word the DIA has cancelled all flights after 6pm.:S

Really? Where did you hear that? As far as I know my flight was still on for tonight? I REALLY don't want to drive out to DIA only to find out my flight has been cancled then get stuck there for the next two days. :S

Sorry not the airport, just some of the airlines, but I doubt the airport is far behind.

Here is your best bet to know for sure on your flight.

All indications are my flight is still going to go, but with the following "notes": DPTS OT /1313CT/1213-2359/PROB DLYS/DVRT/CNCL-SNOW$VISIBILITY$AIRPORT+ARVS OT+

Hmm.. I'm about to head to the airport. Wish me luck.

Yep. I'm on tomorrow's "stay the night shift." I have to pick up two people on my way in in the morning; I've already picked up groceries for breakfast for those who had to spend the night tonight.

Mine, however, is voluntary, so I am not complaining. I am really tired of the crappy roads tho.[:/]

Aah memories. I learned to ski on the mountains. Then my sister and I went to Wilmot.... we nearly laughed our butts off!

Denver has the worst snow removal policy of any major city that gets snow routinely. Just my opinion. They have no requirement to plow city roads unless snow goes on for 24 hours and it stays below freezing for at least 24 hours. But it does make me glad I don't have to leave the house to work.

Today the city of Broomfield had two small plows clearing the sidewalk along the greenbelt behind my house. Why do I mention this? Because they still have not cleared damn street in FRONT of my house! There is only one lane open, and most of the street is covered in either two feet on snow, or 4-6 inches of lumpy packed ice.

All in all, I did very well getting through Denver. Spent the 22nd-today with my folks in Portland, making my connecting flights thru DIA.

I made one of the first flights from Orlando to Denver after they opened back up last Friday, and tho my layover went from 2 hours to 5 minutes, I made it thru smoothly. Today I had an early flight and was gone before the snow.

I don't think I've ever seen so much white landing anywhere. I don't envy you folks having to dig your way out to get anywhere. :o

The oddest thing I recall about Wilmot was the the most prevalent language spoken there was Polish.:o
