Amazon 7 #51 April 10, 2007 I would vote for ANYPLACE that has decent weather...NOT during the height of the hottest most humid... thunderstorm ridden time of the year in CORN LAND... I avoid wasting what little time off I get, and spending a hell of a lot of money in airfare etc.. to sit on the ground and watch crappy weather roll by all day. simplyputsi 0 #52 April 10, 2007 Well I never went to Quincy but was told it was good we left. Rantoul was fine, people and all, but damn that weather sucked, last year, the only year I've ever been. I'd go back to Rantoul, maybe not use a tent this time though. I do agree, if you are gonna move it, move it out of tornado alley. I really don't know where that would be though. Too hot down south, most times. Either coast will cause lots of people to not go. I hate the middle flat states!!!!Florida it is. Naked skydives for everyone!!!! billvon 3,070 #53 April 10, 2007 >Florida it is. Too much rain. Do it on the Pacific coast, and I mean really near the coast. Temps in the summer never get much over 80 - and it never rains.
simplyputsi 0 #54 April 10, 2007 It only rains at 5 p.m. everyday for about an hour max. I mean you need to eat a recupe anyway. Just make it mandatory ya know. Actually florida could be a problem with all those pesky hurricanes and stuff. CA is just too far away, but you are probably right.Skymama's #2 stalker -

Snowwhite 0 #56 April 10, 2007 Quote I vote for this location and they are experienced at hosting events. http://www.lakelandgov.net/airport/ Lakeland is an interesting place. We checked it out when we worked the Sun 'n Fun a couple of years before we moved to Rantoul. The airport is owned half by Lakeland, and half by the guy that runs Sun'nFun, and all of the improvements etc, are on his half, and he's not playing...skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

ChasingBlueSky 0 #62 April 11, 2007 QuoteThumbs down to Quincy under the "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" rule. Elvisio "been there done that" Rodriguez Agreed. Rantoul was the perfect site for an event of this type. You need to consider a pro-rated ticket cost for those of use nearby that come only for the weekend if/when it starts back up. I choose to skip the last one I could have gone to, refusing to pay full cost for the last two days (esp since not much is around on that Sunday)_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... As much as I love Florida...(yeah right!!, thats why I schedule myself on the road half the year) its not the place IMO. No matter what time of year you choose to hold it, it would only attract a certain segment of the country. And you would have some serious competition in that region any time of the year. Which, as we know would only hurt everyone's event. Beth, lets take some time off, come to SkyFest 7 and other events this year, see whats new, old, working and not working, then lets combine forces and start over. Lets catch up this week. I gots an idea for you. J
