Squeak 17 #1 October 12, 2006 Is anyone here using the New Vector Magnetic Risers, are they working well or just gimicky? You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
JohnRich 4 #3 October 12, 2006 Do you mean "magnetic riser covers"? See the link provided in the prior message for a discussion of these, under a non-descript subject title.
labrys 0 #4 October 13, 2006 That links to a discussion of the technology, but there isn't anything there about actual experience, which is what the OP's question was about.Owned by Remi #?
billbooth 10 #5 October 13, 2006 We have over 1,000 jumps now on magnetic riser covers, as well as countless ground tests. They work better than anything else I have tried (and I've tried a lot of different designs). If they did not, I would not offer them. You don't get gimmicks out of my shop...whatever the name of it is at the moment.
kissrg 0 #6 October 14, 2006 Bill, Will you offer them for Sigma tandems as well? Robert
skydiverek 63 #7 October 14, 2006 Do the magnets loose their strength over time???
freeflywink 0 #8 October 15, 2006 No, they only get weaker from harsh strikes. The new tech rare earth magnets are much less prone to that but on the down side are more prone to chiping and or breaking.Wink. I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.
billbooth 10 #9 October 15, 2006 QuoteBill, Will you offer them for Sigma tandems as well? Robert Yes. Sigma mains will have them. Tandem rigs really need them.
