gearless_chris 1 #2 April 10, 2007 The Falcon by Precision is rated for use as a reserve, you can also use a Raven reserve as a main but it's gonna open like a reserve."If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.
bob.dino 1 #3 April 10, 2007 QuoteCan anyone tell me how common it is to use mains for reserves ? Very uncommon. There are very very few canopies regularly used as mains that can also be used as a reserve. In the USA it'd be illegal to use a PD Sabre as a reserve, as it's not been certified for that purpose. PhreeZone 20 #4 April 10, 2007 First, to be a reserve in the US it needs to be certified as passing TSO standerds. The Sabre was never intended to be used as a reserve so it was never tested as such. The current reserves on the market that you should look at are the PD Reserve and the PD Optimum, the Icarus Reserve, Percision's Raven series, and Flight Concepts reserve series. Thats the major US makers that still are putting out reserves. Your choices are limited, but there are some great choices in this bunch.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

PhreeZone 20 #10 April 10, 2007 Yep, I did forget the Smart. Its a nice reserve that I got to look over really good at WFFC 04 and was really impressed by it.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
skydiver30960 0 #11 April 10, 2007 At least you picked a main that would open damn fast! Elvisio "maybe the 500 jumps on a sabre one explain my memory problems... uh... what was I talking about?" Rodriguez
diablopilot 2 #12 April 10, 2007 Have I heard of a Sabre used as a reserve? Yes? Was it legal? Nope. Not so sure I'd want a ZP reserve. When ZP fails, it fails in a big way. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I've heard of it too but I'm not sure I believe it but it's certainly possible.
