NickDG 23 #26 October 16, 2006 >>and how much is the the cheapest one you bought ?<< The price of gas should be so stable. The first one I bought was $78. But, Frap Hats, I'm pretty sure, have been 120 U.S. dollars for the past twenty years . . . ? NickD BASE
airtwardo 7 #27 October 26, 2006 I still wear my Frap Hat. ~To the BAR doesn't count Nick! I like taking it off after opening and clipping it to a lateral. ~I just push mine back behind me...like a 'hooded' sweatshirt, might drop it if I un clip it! Anyone remember when skydiving was about freedom . . . ? ~Not if ya started after about 85.... And here's a little secret. You look like an idiot doing this! LOL . . . ~Always makes me wonder which is on backward...helmet or head! Head? HEAD??? Who said Head....I'll take some of THAT! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

baron_68 0 #30 October 31, 2006 A leather hat use to be the cool thing to wear because the alternative was a motorcycle helmet. Hard helmets have saved a lot of head injuries in freefall and on the ground. Just like with motorcycle helmets though , there are always going to be people who don't think the added safety is worth the money or being closed in. I love a hard helmet because the wind noise is so much less and I enjoy the skydive more. Some people like the wind though. I'll still take the safety factor. I've been hit hard enough in freefall that I was glad to have a hard helmet on.
