Belly piercing - pain level

Recommended Posts

For those that have their belly pierced, what level of pain - if any - did you experience?

I made sure that there were poll options for those that don't have their belly pierced so that you weren't left out. ;):P:D

I voted mild pain :)

I had my pierced, but my navel got infected, and it never healed. It kept blistering up and pussing, and completely awful!!

Of course the girl i went with had no problems, and no issues.

For me, it sucked, and i ended up just taking it out...

It wasn't very bad at all. I went with my mom when I was 15. She said I could get my belly button pierced if I got A's on all my finals and I did. It was funny she almost passed out when the pierced my skin the needle he he. I would say the worst part for me was that it took a almost 2 months to heal completely:S.

I added some pic's Brianfry713 took of me in the Bahamas. I can clearly see my belly button ring in the big pictures on my on my computer but, its kind of hard to see with this resolution.

Nothing really. Nearly didn't hurt at all. You left that option out in your poll. Was a little sore for some time afterwards, like someone forgot a surgical utensil in your navel, but no big deal really.

It takes some time to heal, and you can expect some white/clear liquid coming from it from time to time during the healing period.

Go to a reputable piercer who'll keep things clean. Titanium is a good choice for first jewellry in there.

Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet.

Ditto to that, but mine took over a year before it really healed. If I had any idea it would take that long, I wouldn't have done it- I was thinking maybe 6 weeks or so! Then I broke my leg, needed surgery and the nurse had to take the ring out. The hole closed right up, and I don't think I would do it again.

I'v never had my belly button pierced, and since I am guy I don't plan on getting one, but any piercing will hurt, but for a fraction of a second. Yes piercings can be uncomfortable while healing, but as they say, no pain no gain, you appreciate your piercings much more if you had some pain during the healing time.

Personaly, I'v been pierced 16 times and only one of them was done with anestetic, I don't see the point on an anestetic on piercings, it's silly, just deal with the poke :)
Oh and post pictures, of course! Also, check out BME.

The only "uncomfortable moment" not really pain when I got my belly pierced was the needle itself going thru. I never got an infection either. Every once in awhile - depending on what you wear and how frequent - if the piercing gets rubbed a lot - it might turn a bit red, nothing more.

The piercer did suggest not getting in a hottub - public swimming pool, you know, all those bateria filled areas for a few months. I think ultimately it does take 6 months to completely heal.

I got mine done when I was 17... they put the clamp on so hard that I didn't even realize that the needle had actually gone through... so all I really felt was a really bad pinch.

Afterwards though... that's when it'll suck... it does get irritated really easily... and mine got infected a couple times in the first 2 or 3 months, but it wasn't completely healed until probably at least 6,7, maybe 8 months afterwards....

My best piece of advice would be to try not to touch it/play with it a lot... that's how it gets infected. Also, they'll tell you to wash it with dial soap and make sure to get all the soap out after you wash it.... it's true! Make sure you clean it out really well after a shower or anytime you wash it.

All in all though, I still have mine in 5 years later (holy shit, that was 5 years ago?!) and it's fun... mine fell out last summer when I lost the top ball and my stomach looked just really weird w/o it in.

I say go for it! :)

Apparently, I went back in time three years. I did transfer paperwork for three employees and said it was October 2004... Um, it's March 2007, almost April. Not a fucking clue where 10/2004 came from, but I put that date on all three transfers. :S The lady at corporate called me to see if it was a mistake.

ah ha, we've got a comedian here!! :P To be honest, I probably did make a face like that, because I thought it was going to hurt like hell! After he pierced it, he was putting my navel ring in, and I asked when he was going to pierce it already... :S hehe

eyebrwo hurt a bit, tongue didnt, my nipple was ridicilously painful and the frenum was kinda a sharp pain, but only initially..

The only thing I didn't like about the frenum was the ammount of blood, there was more than when I had my PA done! However the ladder was fine, no blood, just a bit of pain...well ok I coudn't really walk properly the first day:S:D

Industrial piercing- Damn!! Hot fire for a bit, and a pain in the ass to try and sleep on for a long time.

How did you come up with that term to describe the ummmm....?:P

That's NOT what I am describing!! :$:$:$
It's a bar through the top portion of my ear...two piercings actually.

Thus the difficulty in sleeping on that side, putting the phone up to that side, etc.

you must have quite some metal down there! i was thinking about PA's, apadravyas and ampallangs, but not being able to jerk off for like six month or so.. plus, the pain must be horrid!!!

but what you described shouldnt really be, actually pa's are supposed to be quite messy, my frenum was alright, probably the bloodiest piercing i got done, but it was only a couple of drops anyway..

Actually it's the only metal left on me...hah, anyway, it takes some time to heal, but it'd definitely worth it, of course, you do have to sit down to take a piss, but that doesn't really bother me.
