Well it wouldn't be so bad to have a couple of DZ.com's lovely ladies to do a little RW with.

What have you learned here that you didn't learn from your dz? What have you learned here about your gear? etc...and if other, please elaborate..thanksB|

I can honestly say... the one thing I learned here is don't ask serious questions. Most times you either get bullshit answers or just bullshit with no answers.... [:/]

I've learned quite a bit of theory from the swooping forums, plus had a lot of questions answered when i didn't have a lot of experience. I've also learned that skydiving really is a global community and it makes me glad to be a part of it.

Lastly i've learned that some people, no matter how many answers they get in the negative will never listen and it baffles me why they bother to ask in the first place.

Ive learned that we all have to damn much time on our hands.

Ive learned that I and many of my friend are BIGGER perverts at the DZ than we are here.

Ive changed how I put my bag in the main pack tray.

Ive changed how I "learn" a new canopy.

I picked up unique tips and tricks that are very useful in learning to swoop.

Ive learned that everyone has an opinion, and they're not afraid to tell you it's right.

Ive learned that I cant get to go see all my friends on here no matter how hard I try.

Things I've learned from here:

1) There are a lot more people here that THINK they know what they are talking about than those that actually know.

2) Said people are not shy about informing everyone else of their opinions

3) I've picked up several bits of great canopy theory from those qualified to discuss it.

4) That most skydivers have NO fucking clue how to track, or to fly a canopy...see points 1 and 2.

5) That some of you are right damned cool to hang out with in person.

That's as hard as I care to think at the moment.

ditto

what else:

• like in every other group there's a bunch of people whose egos are bigger then their knowledge/abilities

• that most newbies in her are to lazy to use the search function
>:(

• personally: that sifting through tons of trash is worth the gems of knowledge to be found

I learned that there is a time to be serious, but not here.

I've learned that because I don't try to talk my whuffo friends into jumping, I don't care about the sport.

I've learned that most people would rather make excuses why they can't do something than quit whining and go make it happen.

I've learned that no matter how hard or often you try to explain why downsizing to a 1.3+ wingloading or flying a Crossfire/Stiletto/Katana/Diablo at 50 jumps is not the best idea, people aren't going to listen.

I've learned that just because somebody has a piece of paper that says they should know something doesn't mean they actually know anything.

I've learned that it's always the swooper's fault.

edit to add - I've also learned that I can argue vociferously with someone on the internet during the week and still share a jump and/or a cold adult beverage with them on the weekend. B|
