Who can crash for the night/weekend at your place??

Recommended Posts

If you need a place to stay, just let me know. I have a nice pillow top king size bed (that I won't give up for anyone, but MIGHT share), or a squishy leather couch (and a LazyBoy). It's only a one bedroom apartment that I share with my cat, but I'll let you stay. I've had a few skydivers stay with me before. No problems!! ;)

If it was someone that I knew or talked to frequently - ABSOLUTELY! Livendive stayed with me and doc last week before he headed out to Dublin.:o:o:o:o:o

I've been offered a place to crash on more than one occasion...I usually pitch my sleeping bag at the DZ 'cause I'm hard like that!! But if it was seriously bad weather I would no doubt ask/take someone up on the offer.

BTW I live in military barracks 1 1/2 hours from the DZ so I've never had someone crash....

Yep, my friends are always welcome to stay at my place. I live at my boyfriends house with an awesome roommate. We are all skydivers so the atmosphere around here is pretty much the same as the DZ just a little more layedback. That being said I definitely wouldn't want people over all the time or a bunch of people here that I don't know. I really like my privacy but, I do have a guest room and love when my out of town friends come to stay with us.

There are a handful of people I'd let take the spare room at our house. You and your brood are among them, Corey. B|

-Of course, with Autistic twins with sleep disorder, we don't get many people taking us up on that. :|

Phree & Daizey just crashed at Casa de Kris & Dagny a few weekends back.

I recommend Flyangel2's place in Colorado though. Great view, and she'll even cook you dinner on her birthday! >:(

Well, of course my jumping friends could stay at my place. I have contact with some of them while not jumping, and like them both at the DZ and out of it. I have the space for it since I kicked out my BF. Company is great. I mostly socialize with fish when I'm at home...

I have a matress that they could sleep on, but one special one would get my bed anytime;).
Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet.

I'm pretty far from the DZ, but you arent a friend if you cant crash at my place whenever needed..

in fact its one of the tests of true friendship for me..

a true friend can show up on your doorstep unannounced, unseen or heard from in 5 years and still have a place to sleep/eat without issue and vis versa..

if that statement isnt true then you know you are not really my friend.. the word 'acquaintance' is more applicable.

Ok, so a lot of us love our friends, and party atmosphere of the DZ for a weekend, summer, etc... but if one of your DZ buddies needed a place to stay for the night or weekend, could they crash at your place?
We all know there can be a huge difference between what goes on at the DZ and what is allowed at home?
Thoughts????

As SkyMama can attest, any cool jumper who can put up with my overweight cats are always welcome at my apartment in Manhattan. Equidistant from the Ranch and Skydive Sussex.

You are a great host and your apartment is great. You couldn't even get us off the couch on the last day! I think we liked the cats more than the cats like us, they eyed us suspiciously.

A lot of people have stayed at my house over the years, but being a single woman I have about the same rules as Krisanne does. If you've creeped me out in the forums, I don't care how nice you are in real life, there's no room at the inn.

First of all, I must say that all of you DZ.commers are awesome. So my husband and I were talking about this yesterday. At that point I was thoroughly annoyed by my husband's constant tale over the past few days of his old (home DZ) friends calling him and emailing him about this 20 something hot chick (from home DZ) who was in the area (about 150 miles away) and they wanted to get them hooked up for some fun skydives. I am currently 7.5 months pregnant and have little to NO patience for anything. [:/] Hormones raging through my body (with perhaps a bit of unnecessary jealousy) I told him "by the way, if any of your skydiving friends are in town and want to spend the night, the answer is NO. That includes male and female skydivers."

My husband proceeded to say "well depending on who it is I may have to twist your arm" to which I replied "yeah, it ain't gonna happen."

In my defense, I am an only child who NEVER had any roommates and very few very well known and picked friends. I have NEVER shared my home with anyone (not even old boyfriends, except for the overnight stay) and my husband is the first person aside from my parents with whom I have lived. I am also not a skydiver, although I did make the attempt, and have not had the fortune of sharing that wonderful camaraderie that I see in these forums.

All the above being said, I feel pretty comfortable to say that MANY of the posters here on DZ.com would be welcomed to stay at our home as would be my husband's friends from his home DZ. ;)

Sure, happens all the time (I have plenty of room to spare)
Of course... one 'skydiving buddy' crashed at my place for a weekend and we ended up dating for a couple years. Another has been crashing at my place for the last 10 months :D Oh, and another "got lost" for a few hours in my neighborhood.... on foot.
So, you're welcome to stay at my place... you just might not get away for awhile. I should start calling it the Black Hole Hotel.

... maybe I should stop feeding people when they stay... maybe that's it...
