Got my Bear Rug back...

How much money have you donated to conservation this year? How much do you know about Kodiak? Ever been there? Do you know the natives on Kodiak? They cull the herd also, don't eat the meat, are you going to blast the indigenous people for doing that for thousands of years? I posted the pics because I was proud of my harvest. If you don't like them, that is fine. That is your own opinion, I will respect that. But, I know several skydivers who are hunters and would appreciate my exploits.
Thank you very much,
Johnny

Nice Bear. ;) How old was it? I took my first bear in 88 and the Game Warden was such a pussy, he didn't want to put his hand in the bears mouth to pull the tooth! :D

The bear was a young 4 year old. I wish I would've been able to take the HUGE one that got away. Up here, you can't hunt on the same day that you fly. That BIG bear was on the beach 20 yards from us on the beach when we stepped off of the floatplane.

P.S. The bear squared at 7'6"...about 500-600#

Once again, the peanut gallery chides in. Like I said, if you don't approve of hunting...fine. I'm sure there are things in your life that I don't approve of. DO I tell you about them...no. There are plenty of skydivers who hunt and plenty who don't hunt. As my last question went....how much money do you pitch in for conservation each year? I bet I pitch in more than you. Ever heard of the Pittman-Robertson Act? No?Then go bug somebody else. By the way, the shot was taken at 15 yards. Do you have the testis to sneak up on a bear from 15 yards away? Didn't think so.( U.K. riding a horse around shooting at a fox with dogs hot on its trail....yeah, real sport there. ) That is the glory of living in this country, there is freedom to hunt, whether for sport, or food. Some reason why I have an Aussie and a Brit bashing a freedom that so many of us in the U.S. enjoy? Don't be jealous. I'm proud of my hunting background. If you don't like it...just don't say anything at all. It'll leave all of us happy.

I have heard different opinions about bear meat and I would like to try it! Not something I would want to eat everyday I am sure!

Yes, Alaska has their conservation laws to a science....I understand that bears need to be regulated. Bears do really nasty things to their environment and each other when over population occurs. That must have been an exciting experience! Just think what would have happened had the bear won the battle!

Last spring I went about 15 miles into Gila looking for black bears and mountain lions and did not see a single one! I did talk to a guide and he said for 150$ he would tree a cat with one of his dogs, but I would rather see the cat in a more natural state than terrified in a tree! :)

Thanks for the offer for a place to stay.........I will one day make the adventure and hopefully not die of starvation in a bus three miles from a fully stocked cabin!:D:D:D

P.S Fox hunting is banned in the U.K and then they didn't shoot at the fox either (Guns are banned here too - oh how our liberties are being ripped from us).

Personally, I dont agree with any hunting that is not for food .... but Internet Baiting sure is fun.

Little did unlucky1 know, how truly unlucky he was, or of the reverse psychology involved behind the scenes. Indeed if you zoom in on the photo... You will notice; while getting his rocks off or getting Lucky himself, Smokey had a tape measure in his hand, and was making certain that his prey, for his new 'John Skin Rug' would indeed fit nicely on the floor of his den, right in front of the fireplace!

If you lived in my neighborhood, you would understand why we have guns!:D:D:D

Aha! Little did Smoky know....Johnny had a hunting partner that blasted Smoky to Smithereens as soon as he was distracted during his Beargasm! Poor Smokey....Maybe his mind shouldn't have wandered thinking about the upcoming fire season.
