Safire 2 - new line set

I'm back in the U.K now after a long stint in Australia and New Zealand and I'm regretting not buying a line set from Icarus whilst I was out there...

From some recent inquiries with U.K suppliers I've been quoted £189 for the line set itself and £59 for the actual reline, in total that's a seemingly extortionate £250! (or $477 for the benefit of our U.S buddies). Has anyone else had to reline a Safire 2 recently and if so, how much did you pay? Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated!

I relined a Safire a little while back (a year or 2) and yip I remember it being pretty expensive too - although I'm sure I only paid £20 in rigging expenses (on top of the new line set).

IIRC, I paid $275 (installed) + shipping for new lines for my Safire a couple of years ago. Masterrigger1 did it for me. Of course that's all U$D but it should give you an idea of the going rate here I guess.

As for putting HMA on a Safire, I don't see the advantage really. Vectran is already dimensionally stable and better than Spectra IMO.

If you want a semi-sporty canopy with HMA, get a Fusion.

That sounds about the same as the Canadian rate for re-lining a canopy: $175 for a factory line kit plus four hours labor to install.

Actually that's not that expensive, I'd have to pay EUR 425-450 for a PD lineset + install and an Icarus lineset is more expensive I've been told.

We charge a standard line set price for all canopies,
Icarus, PD, Aerodyne, Attair, PISA, etc.

This applies to sport canopies that are lined with 580 Vectran or 725 Spectra.
The cost forline sets installed on nine cell canopies is $280.00 USD plus S/H.

Seven cell canopies are $265.00 installed plus S/H.

HMA lines are a little higher in cost and also are the Tandem line sets.

In regards to HMA, we now have a Technora line that is the same size as the 580 Vectran, yet stronger at 845lbs.

It is available for all canopies on the market today.

The cost is a little higher than the Spectra or Vectran line sets, but they will last a lot longer.
