Anyone know of any tech writing jobs in the Austin, TX area?

Nothing constructive mind you (or even slightly helpful)

But 6th St. is having a shortage on homeless bums! :S;)

Response to your snappy retort:

Yeah Yeah, I know, but it won't reach, and I don't think I would even if it could! LOL

I don't think I'd be all that great at being a homeless bum--my heart just wouldn't be in it. On the other hand, I think I'd be really good being the guy standing in front of the exit doors at WalMart with a marker to check receipts.

I'd probably have some days where I would be a power-hungry jerk and wouldn't let anybody out of the store.

I got an e-mail about two months ago that Dell was looking for a bunch of Software Developers. And where there's a software developer, there's the opportunity to do all the non-programming tasks that developers hate doing. I deleted the e-mail or I'd give you more information.

Austin?!? :S What happened?? Did allthe local TV stations cancel the "Matlock" reruns ??:o

Hey, Austin is a cool place--I'm just tired of driving there from Houston all the time.

Speaking of Houston, it seems that a lot of people don't realize that it's a great place to live too.:)

Houston is a lousy place to live. A great place to eat and skydive, but a lousy place to live.

Austin is getting less wierd and more crowded all the time. Sad, really.

Houston probably isn't for everyone, but it's got some great points:

* Relatively low cost of living
* Memorial park!
* 2 Otter DZs -- Skydive Houston and Skydive Spaceland
* Lots of interesting people
* Only gets cold for about 4 weeks out of the year
* You *never* have to use the parking brake on your car
* A gorgeous skyline
* It's the 4th largest city in the US and from the air, you see a *bunch* of trees!
* Lots of critters (if you know where to look)
* The list is pretty much endless.

I can agree with the critters part. Maybe that's because I live at the very (current) edge of the sprawl. I have a few acres not far from Skydive Houston and enjoy the reptile, rodent, insect, and avian variety of the area. But the sprawl is quickly taking over.

The rest of houston sucks.
