Well here is the question. I was ragging a new acquaintance about their choice in beer because she likes lite beer.
Is it about taste for you or gets me drunk?

For me it is taste since I am a light weight.

Reminds me of a time in the bar when I grabbed the wrong beer and starting telling people how much they were pussies for drinking bud lite, but then in my hand was a bud lite instead of my much darker brew. They enjoyed pointing that out to me, so I had to walk back into the bar to get my real drink.

I voted taste because I like to have one or two beers for taste quite often, but sometimes its definitely about getting drunk. Personally, "why", depends on where/when.

Its never been about taste for me. The only exception to this rule is the first 1 or 2 'starter' beers/drinks. Once the buzz starts to kick in, it really doesn't matter.

Pretty situational. If I just have a drink or two, I'd rather it taste good. When I'm smuggling booze on cruises or getting drunk with my friends, it's all about the alcohol percent.
