My favorite is Eddie, hands down. -------------------------------------- Yea I agree, The best way eddie van halen could approach a guitar is with his hands down, tied, Mr. Van Halen, place the guitar down on the ground, & step away from it with your hands in the air, and no one has to get hurt!*My Inner Child is A Fucking Prick Too! *Everyones entitled to be stupid but you are abusing the priviledge *Well I'd love to stay & chat, But youre a total Bitch! {Stewie}

mfrese 0 #89 February 23, 2007 I've seen Bonnie in concert twice, and she is incredible. And since you're going into country and bluegrass, let's not forget Glen Campbell, Roy Clark, and Tony Rice from the David Grisman Quintet...awesome players all. masterrig 1 #90 February 24, 2007 I've only seen her on T.V. Even that, was a treat! I guess, that's what I get for bein a 'country boy'! Too far from the venues. You get to thinking about it, there's a ton of darn good pickers. Rickey Skaggs and Marty Stewart also, in the country vein. Chuck
JackC 0 #91 February 24, 2007 Now Bonnie Rait can play a mean guitar, I especially like her slide work, which reminds me of Ry Cooder, that dude can play. But getting back to Bonnie, I love the duet she did with John Lee Hooker. Nobody had the blues like Hooker. Dunno how this thought popped into my head but Michelle Branch is a brilliant songsmith. A mean picker too. And on a random country note, I'll throw in Brad Paisley. I'm no country fan but Munster Rag is a belter. And just to be the first to say it, George Thorogood! fonz 0 #93 February 24, 2007 QuoteI guess Im the only Hard Rock/Metal head out there. Think again. There are plenty of hardrock and metal fans here, myself included. Metallica, Iron Maiden, Sepultera, Pantera, AC/DC... They're not my favorites but I do like them. Hell, I even listen to Metal Church, go figure. In fact, when I was at Perris I met one of the Megadeth guys. The dude was a bit weird and didn't seem all that much interested in skydiving (which made me wonder how on earth he managed to end up at Perris that late in the first place) but he was nice and cool. I just think that for those kind of players it's harder to gain a virtuoso status because there's a lot of trash rock/metal out there and people might be quick to dismiss the entire hardrock/metal scene as trash and its guitarists as no-good, no-brain, noise-without-skill, drug-abusing morons. Which I don't think is justified, by the way. Kirk Hammett is definately good. So is James Hetfield. It's probably just harder for such guys to get recognized by the purists. But if the Metallica gang can earn the respect of the San Francisco Philharmonic Orchestra, they can't be that bad. (Bring some airsick bags and sawdust.) ...Oh, and the guitar question is too open ended, even when sub-referencing by genre. Eventually, there could be only one, and there's no logical way to compare David Gilmour, J. Mascis, Steve Jones, Robert Johnson and Manuel Barrueco. But I must throw an Honorable Mention to Brian Setzer (Yes, the Stray Cats guy.), as Most Underrated one of the best I've ever seen in person.OrFunV/LocoBoca Rodriguez/Sonic Grieco/Muff Brother #4411 -"and ladies....messin with Robbie is venturing into territory you cant even imagine!-cuz Robbie is
