temporary 210 in a j3?

Recommended Posts

HI all, due to a temporary non-skydiving related ouchie, I was thinking about stuffing my buddies TRI 210 in to my J3.

I know the reserve is still only a 160, I don't mind lading that off the dz at night, though I always agree with Mojosparky when he rightly brings this up.

would it be unsafe try a 210? I asked the sunpath rigger and got a kinda, "don't" because the stiffiners will get messed up, but it seems like if it was unsafe he would have said so?

better to just up size to a 190 for a while? or better to wait it out a bit?

thanks and blue ones

... if you try it, please have someone video it and post it... the parts I'd like to see are... 1) trying to get a 210 in to a J3 D-Bag... and... 2) trying to close the containter... :P... I'm not saying either can't be done nor am I saying either should or shouldn't, I'm just implying it will be entertaining to watch... ;)

In all seriousness now... don't know the nature of your injury / not a lot of info in your original post along those lines, but its probably not important... but think about this, "You've got the rest of your life to BASE jump, why not heal-up somemore before getting back on the Bridge... Aerial... Span... or Earth... errr... Cliff... errr... Rock... errr... Bluf?" :$:)

I have a J3 with a Safire 169 in it, and I don't know if you could get a 210 in it without some serious cursing. The Tri is a more forgiving type of ZP, and you'd probably be able to get it done if you psycho pack, but it'd be pushing it.
God made firefighters so paramedics would have heroes...and someone can put out the trailer fires.

... maybe if we bagged the 210 and then parked a car on it over night, we could get it into a J3... with the help of a positive tension device too...

:P

Hey! Don't laugh... I know people who have done that.... ;)
