masterblaster72 0 #80 August 30, 2006 I am a hopeless addict -- I eat sushi at least a couple of times a week, and I'd say that my sushi habit is as costly if not more expensive than my skydiving habit. My favorites are the uni (sea urchin) and toro (fatty tuna belly) sashimi. I'm curious to know if anyone here has tried fugu (puffer fish). I've treated myself to it a couple of times but I'm not all that impressed with it -- there isn't that much flavor to it. The mystique of eating something that can potentially kill you was the neatest thing about it... smiles: QuoteThe best sushi in my city (Vancouver) in my province (B.C.) in my country (Canada) Tojo's Vancouver! I vacationed in Vancouver in summer 2004, and ate at Tojo's. I know what you mean -- this was easily some of the best sushi I ever had. The lobster rolls were outrageous, ended up re-ordering them twice. Be humble, ask questions, listen, learn, follow the golden rule, talk when necessary, and know when to shut the fuck up. woodpecker 0 #81 August 30, 2006 My favorite is EBI and Salt water eel (cant remember the name). When I got stuck here in the UK I learned how to make it myself. Not that hard, you should try it. Came up with all kinds of interesting sushi dishes.SONIC WOODY #146 There is a fine line between cockiness and confidence -- which side of the line are you on? snakeeater 0 #83 August 30, 2006 The only think that sucks about Sushi is that its not filling... I end up eating and eating and eating... and then the bill shows up. there was a nice place in rio de janeiro where you got "all you can eat" for a decent price. you only had to pay extra for the pieces you didn't eat (but order) until then, i thought sushi wasn't filling, too Quote Remi...have you tried the Sushi place in Casa Grande? Good Sushi in Cacca Grande...would wouldnt have known?! LOL wow.. gotta try it out next time i go to eloy. couldn't find decent food anywhere. (sorry, you uys from the prop.. no offense) i'd eat sushi every day in switzerland if i could afford it. a few pieces cost already more than a jump ticket (and they're pretty expensive, too). pinkfairy 0 #96 February 24, 2007 QuoteSpicy Salmon is the bomb diggity. Anyone ever had salmon eggs? I have not quite worked up the nerve to try that, yet. Salmon eggs, or ikura is the best. The best sushi piece ever. Really, try it. Tastes salty, a bit like smoked salmon, and the eggs burst and leak their juice in your mouth like berries. Delicious! Sushi is great. Nothing like a big plate of different kinds of sushi to share with your friends. Sushi can BTW be eaten with your hands. They do that quite often in japan, depends on the place you eat it, in fancy restaurant you'd obviously use chopsticks, but in less formal places you're free to use your hands. Oh, and: One piece = one mouthful. And the green goo (Wasabi) is to be used sparingly, mixes in soy sauce or put between fish and rice. Beverage of choice with sushi is beer. You could be all fancy and cool and buy japanese beer like Kirin (meaning giraffe) or Asahi (meaning morning sun (!)), but european or even american beer work just as well. Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet. I'm a BIG, TOUGH BIGWAY FORMATION SKYDIVER! What are you?
