NWFlyer 2 #3 February 20, 2007 Probably some validity in it, but I think the best piece of info in there is "listen to your body." I also think a lot of people don't know what their body is saying to them. They don't drink much all day and get headaches and don't make the connection ..."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. LisaM 0 #4 February 20, 2007 Do you think it is possible to get headaches from drinking water? I have been religious about my water since the start of the new year. For 3 weeks now I have had a nasty headache DAILY. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

For 3 weeks now I have had a nasty headache DAILY. I have no idea. i just know that I get headaches if I don't drink enough for me. Edit to add - anything else changed? Giving up caffeine? Sleep changes? Environmental changes? Random injuries? Might be worth a visit to your doc if it's as consistent as you say. simplyputsi 0 #7 February 20, 2007 I second your advice. When I'm thirsty I drink water. When I'm not thirsty I don't. It's rare that I force water down my throat. I hate the stuff pretty much, but it's cheaper than gatorade, which I used to drink allll the time, watered down of course. goofyjumper 0 #8 February 20, 2007 I think that I am addicted to water. I mean I have to have around me almost at all times. I have to have a cup of water by my bed every night. If I don't have water by my bed at night I almost feel panicy! I know our bodies depend on water, but I wonder if you can crave it mor than others. My Husband hardly ever drinks water. He does get headaches sometimne though. But ya, that could be from anything. In all honesty, I think the 8 by 8 rule came from bottled water companies.----------------- I love and Miss you so much Honey! Orfun #3 ~ Darla
LisaM 0 #9 February 20, 2007 Yeah I read something else that said tap water was more harmful than good. Did they die lots from bad water before bottled water was around, I wonder? ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
NWFlyer 2 #10 February 20, 2007 QuoteYeah I read something else that said tap water was more harmful than good. Did they die lots from bad water before bottled water was around, I wonder? That's gotta be marketing hype! I suppose there may be some municipal water systems that aren't great, and certainly some don't *taste* as good, but I can't imagine a water supply being unsafe for very long without someone making a stink about it! I remember reading that kids who only drank bottled water might have problems because municipal water systems are fluoridated. I lived in Greece when I was 5 till I was 8 and we had to take fluoride supplements b/c the water there wasn't fluoridated."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. LisaM 0 #11 February 20, 2007 I had teeth issues as a kid because the city where I lived for a few years did not have flouride in the water. I just fill a jug and leave it sit in the counter. Distills it over time with no extra cost. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?
marks2065 0 #12 February 20, 2007 there are more restrictions on tap water than bottled water
squirrel 0 #13 February 20, 2007 Quote there are more restrictions on tap water than bottled water yes, agreed. Does the FDA regulate bottled water? I am one of those "drink from the hose" people, but then again, I have lived in great water districts. When working on the road, and moving often, we had to switch to bottled water because changing locations (states) weekly led to upset stomachs for us, and our dogs who traveled with us. Once we went on one type of water, the walmart special brand, all upset stomachs went away. We were clued in on this from a vet we had taken our dogs too for having diarreha all the time. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him? Scoop 0 #14 February 20, 2007 QuoteI had teeth issues as a kid because the city where I lived for a few years did not have flouride in the water. So you had 'teeth issues' because other people failed to look after your personal hygiene? Thats classic. Thats as good, if not better than, McDonalds made me fat, my instructor didn't explain the risks associated with skydiving, I didn't know the blade was sharp as it had no warning label etc. i don't mean to pick on you specifically but this is a very american outlook on things. Lastchance 0 #21 February 20, 2007 I heard on the radio this morning that there is a new bottled water out there called Bling. Comes from some Mountain Spring somewhere. (bullshit I say) Where I come from there are mountain springs everywhere. Anyway this stuff is going for $75 a bottle. Anybody that would pay that for a bottle of water should have their head examined. I find it very hard to buy water at any price. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands. MagicGuy 0 #23 February 20, 2007 I drink lots and lots of water daily and I can't even remember the last time I had a headache, other than from a hangover. I also haven't been sick, other than a stupid cold, in a long time. There's no doubt that water is good for you. If anything, there's no reason NOT to drink it. Sheenster303 0 #24 February 20, 2007 I was watching Wife Swap last night and there was this family that was on a "raw" food only diet. They don't drink water at all because they believe that it dehydrates their bodies. Instead, they drink this really old fermented milk. Gross! I have never heard of water dehydrating your body. I think that's ridiculous.I'm so funny I crack my head open! P.M.S. #
grue 1 #25 February 20, 2007 Main reason I drink water: 1. It's water, there are no calories in it. 2. If I chug 15oz of ice cold water, I stop being hungry.
