hollyhjb 0 #1 February 17, 2007 So, I have been sick for about two weeks now. At first it was just coughing, no big deal. Then I was sneezing all day two days ago, and yesterday I had a fever of 101.6 and major body aches. I couldn't get comfy in bed, and I realized that I just wanted to be on the floor. Laid down on the floor, fell asleep, and when I woke up I felt way better. Fever's down to 99, and my aches are gone. I am convinced that sleeping on the floor helps when I am sick, is there any reason this might be true?"I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage

hollyhjb 0 #5 February 17, 2007 It was carpet. Whenever I have a fever I just want to lay on the floor, any floor. I really makes me feel better, and I am one of the few not privileged enough to own a flux capacitor."I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage

These are very valuable devices so its probably appropriate to to go find an axe and open up the floor."Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me" Dorothy

If so you would be within your rights, and receive the thanks of thousands, if you used the new found flux capacitor to do the landlord harm. Shell666 0 #18 February 18, 2007 I sleep better when it's cooler in the room. Maybe because you were on the floor, and not up on the bed, it was cooler and you had a better sleep. Either that or the flux capacitor that Ian talked about actually works. What do I know. 'Shell
hollyhjb 0 #19 February 18, 2007 So I don't know if this proves or disproves my theory, but I'm sleeping on the bed again, and the sick is back! Fever back up to 101.2, and I can't stop coughing for the life of me when I'm lying down. I only slept at all last night thanks to some nyquil, but I think it just dried me up and that's why I'm coughing so bad. Scoop 0 #20 February 18, 2007 I got the same. I couldn't get comfortable in bed at all last couple of nights. I was seriously considering the floor too Least I'll wake up with a spine so straight you could use it as a spirit level

Maybe you are allergic to your bedding, as zipp0 said. Try washing your sheets and blankies and turn down the heat in your house. That might help. Or maybe you just have a cold that won't go away and it's just a coincidence that you felt better yesterday and you're feeling worse today. Can't hurt to try it. Hope you're feeling better. hollyhjb 0 #23 February 18, 2007 Well the mattress is pretty new (under a year old), and we didn't have problems when we first got it. The blankets were washed two days ago. (Plus, I took one off the bed to sleep on the floor with.) My honey has the same thing too (coughing, but no fever or aches). It seems like everyone in the area is getting sick, so I think it's the flu ."I reject your reality and substitute my own" ~Adam Savage

Gato 0 #25 February 18, 2007 I think I might have a theory: Along the lines of a previous post, the teperature of the room may be a factor, as heat rises and cold falls. In addition, I'd be willing to bet there's a noticable difference in humidity levels as well. My guess is that the most moist air is closest to the floor. Hope you feel better soon! ChrisT.I.N.S.
