I love Costco and make a weekly trip. You can buy a whole chicken and use it over a couple of days -- no freezer burn! Or eat cheap at their counter -- dipped while you wait chocolate almond ice cream bars!! The quality is good and they take anything back without any questions.
A friend on mine said their business plan is cost + 15%. Not sure if I believe it, but there are some good deals. Note: each store has somewhat different stuff.

Sams... never really liked it.

I shop @ Costco for lots of meat purchases.
I will buy a beef, or pork tenderloins, steaks etc. cut and individually pack. As to weather it save me a bunch of money, hell I don't know.

Maybe... But I end up buying so much more then I meant to.

We don't have costco locally so I don't know anything about it. But my sister and I are roommates and we have a membership to Sam's. We use it pretty regularly. But, not everything there is a bargain! We love things like the package of frozen chicken breasts, we eat a lot of chicken and that works perfectly for us! We also get our tires from Sam's, they have a great warrenty and any time that we have had trouble with tires we are able to go in and get either a patch or replace the tire.

So, yeah... we have found things at Sam's that make it worth the trip!

I have Costco, SO has Sam's. They both have good and bad points. Different brands of TP, paper towels, etc. Costco has a great meat department.
FoodSavers ROCK!
And if you time it right, you can fill up on all the samples in the food section. ;)
