ncfitzge 0 #1 February 5, 2007 So, as a military member, I am able to use HR Block online for free. I go through the entire process and e-file my paperwork. I went back the next day to check the status and make sure the IRS has accepted it and I noticed my refund amount had changed. So I send an email to the "Tax Expert" and I get an email back saying that they some times put a hold on my credit card before charging the payment I owe the IRS. Keep in mind, I never gave them my credit card, nor owe any money. So I sent them an email asking if they would actually read my previous email and I all I get is call the IRS. Now if I remember correctly by the adds, don't they say they will handle the IRS if there are any problems? Or am I just smoking crack again....#148 Sonic Scrat "Have you ever kissed a rabbit between the eyes?" d_squared431 0 #3 February 5, 2007 I use HR every year but I go into a branch. They are supposed to be there for you so you don't have to deal with the IRS. crapflinger2000 1 #7 February 5, 2007 I concur, HR Block is shady... not only was there an expose in the national media awhile back about how they basically ignored tax rules and basically just made stuff up as they went along (FYI, the guys doing your taxes are NOT accountants, just regular joe-sixpacks who have undergone some sort of training), but my GF had a similar first hand experience, where the tax guy basically said, "Oh, you didn't do any charitable donations? Well, let's just put down $500 anyway". FYI, even if the tax preparer basically counsels fraud, as this guy did, HE is not the one to go to jail if you get caught. YOU are, since you sign the return verifying everything is correct. __________________________________________________ What would Vic Mackey do? Jayruss 0 #10 February 6, 2007 you should use a CPA, one who provides audit assurance . . . our office takes care of all IRS correspondence so the client doesn't have too __________________________________________________ "Beware how you take away hope from another human being." -Oliver Wendell Holmes

Then lets consider the options, can a CPA do it for whatever they want, of course . . . in California we have DZO in southern California charging $24 a jump while northern California DZOs are charging $13 a jump , both from Otters.
