I didn't really care who won, but I cheered for the Colts just because my neighbor was cheering for the Bears. It was amazing how many stupid plays were made. B|

And I wasn't overly impressed by the commercials or the half-time show. :S

Well you got to understand, it rained the whole game. Thats where all the fumbles came from. It was pretty bad all right. Colts fumble to the Bears, then on the very next play, Bears fumble it right back to the Colts! :D They were suffering from Wet Ball Syndrome.

Maybe all future Super Bowls should be played in domed stadiums?

I hear ya Billy but regardless, Grossman still sucked! Dear God, that was not the Chicago QB I remember from this season. For a moment, I thought I was watching Leftwich from the JAGS playing tonight.:P

Does anyone else find it funny that we made a SPORT out of an EMERGENCY PROCEDURE?!?!

Oh, I managed to get a little snide comment in about how they should've played in Georgia, seeing as the Georgia Dome is covered. ;)

You know the two things that bothered me the most?

1. Saying that the Colts were the World Champions. How can that be when only US teams were playing? :S

2. The comments about the "Afro-American" coaches. I'm not prejudiced and I don't care if they're pink, yellow or purple. How can they get away with making such a big "to-do" about that point?

Yeah, they should just call them Super Bowl Champions. If they want to be called World Champions, then set up a bowl between the NFL champion and NFL Europe league champion. :P

I'm guess the big brouhaha is about them two head coaches being the first black coaches ever in the Super Bowl. Black is all I'm going to call them. Afro American? Give me a break. There's white people in Africa too! ;)

I was just reading on another forum for Bears fans trying to call shenanigans on the first interception for the Colts. They are saying the "pick" stepped out for sure but the videos clearly show his left foot was in the green.

Yeah I saw that... just a bunch of sore losers. The Bears challenged that call as well they should have, you got to make sure. In a side-line angle, you could see one foot clearly out of bounds, but it was the intended receiver's foot, not the one of the defender intercepting the pass.

Even without that TD da bears would have lost. Get over it, guys.

Nice game, I was rooting for Indy since my Seahawks were eliminated. And as far as it being historic because of both head coaches being black? I really don't think that's a big deal anymore, which is the way things ought to be.B|

The comercials and halftime show were just fine compared to the pregame show... wtf were they thinking... working stiffs save up for years to go to the superbowl... to watch people wearing butterfly outfits and football players playing in the band... :D:D

I wouldn't blame it all on Grossman. Granted, he didn't have his regular stuff and made a couple of bad passes but it's hard to get cranked up when your receivers drop the ball, your O-line pass-protection performance is sub-par and your defense is on the field most of the day.

You may remember when Steve Young was with the Buccaneers. As good as he was, he couldn't do it all with nobody helping him. It was amazing that he escaped the Buccaneer experience with his life.
My reality and yours are quite different.

You got that right... Sometimes I wonder just how much better Archie Manning could have been if he'd played for a playoff team rather than the lowly Saints...

You have a point with that but both interceptions near in the 2nd half were not related to slippery hands, after all the Colts had a good grip on those interceptions. Never the less, I agree it's hard to get pumped up but he is the Field General and the media will still hold him accountable.

Here in Seattle we were saying "so yeah, the reason we'll never get a Super Bowl in Seattle is because it rains too much... hmmmm." :D

Football is about dealing with the weather. One of the best things about it is that it is played in the sun or the snow. I've always thought that it's kind of a cop-out that they only pick warm climates for the super bowl. I'd love to see a snowy super bowl in Green Bay sometime...

As for the game, the colts completely dominated in every way, they solidly won that game. And FWIW, the halftime show sucked...I felt stupider for having watched the first few minutes of it.

I will say that unique weather conditions make the game more interesting.

It's not about the players dealing with the elements. It's about the throngs of people that swarm the host city and getting them out and about to spend money to boost the local economy.

I have to say I had some moments of schadenfreude yesterday watching the people who spent thousands of dollars for their seats turning into drowned rats. :D

A few of the hits had some help from the rain, but Grossman dropping two snaps was a screwup on the fundamental level - WHY in the world did he have his hands apart on the snap? Place the base of your palms together and get a firm grip! The snow against the Saints wasn't an issue and the rain should not have been for us. Football is played in bad weather, thats an aspect of the sport. Don't give them a lousy excuse, the Bears stunk. :/

Not only do we need to dump Rex, but we need to get rid of our playcallers Turner and Rivera. How the fuck do you come back from halftime with zero adjustments? Rex sucks but what makes he even worse is the play calling. And what prompted them to give Indy 10 yards on the line and why did they keep DManning on Clark? Anderson never had a chance to pressure PManning the entire game and with the man coverage we were manhandled on defense. The def play calling was terrible, how can you expect the Bears to score if you keep letting Indy get first downs without trying to tackle them. How do you not take advantage of squib kicks that gave us nearly 15 extra yards on most possesions. Hell, Indy declined a penalty that would have given them a 1st down in the red zone because they knew our team couldn't score. We were out coached and outplayed. We deserved to lose and I commend Indy for playing to Championship level.
