councilman24 37 #26 January 6, 2007 These are certified for 275 lbs and 150 knots. Higher loadings are possible but not yet fully tested, or at least submitted. In order to work at low speed exits as well as hold together at maximum and beyond it required these added deployment systems. Which include being tied shut with a "line cutter" apex line, military type line stows, sacrificial bartacks on the bridle, and including a reenforced spring loaded pilot chute because they were blowing up normal PC's. All of these are things from the past applied to a newer design and assembly. These have only been out a few years. It took seeing these packed twice at past symposia and getting some hands on practice there to be confident in packing them. I've sold a couple to bigger warbird pilots in my area. The manufacturer originally wanted to require special training in order to pack these but couldn't figure out an appropriate (legal?) way to do it. I strongly encourage anybody seeing one of these for the first time and wanting to go ahead and back it to get advice from the factory or a rigger familiar with them.I'm old for my age. Gene03 0 #27 January 6, 2007 I would strongly recommend a Butler to them instead of this accident waiting to happen.“The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. Gene03 0 #29 January 6, 2007 That's just me Terry. Why would you recommend this over a Butler?“The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. Gene03 0 #31 January 6, 2007 I know I'm drifting this thread. Wasn't trying to cross swords with you, just curious as to your reasoning. Thanks again for the manual.“The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. Gene03 0 #32 January 6, 2007 Can you clarify what you mean by "non-commercial rigs"?“The only fool bigger than the person who knows it all is the person who argues with him. Unstable 9 #33 January 7, 2007 Quote Can you clarify what you mean by "non-commercial rigs"? I'd be happy to clarify this. By "Commercial Rigs" I am talking about Rigs that are not personal gear - most likely dropzone rental gear, student rigs, et cetera. I included this in the poll because many of the riggers I know and work with will ask for a little more for these "commercial Rigs"=========Shaun ==========
