marcandalysse 0 #55 January 17, 2007 I'm bumping this one up cause I just found this great album cover animated short called 'Battle of the Bands' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6bUD9PJ6i8 BTW, that Buckingham/Nicks album is unavailable here in the states. Beyond the great cover, the music is excellent, one of my favorites from the 70's.. mp "The reason angels can fly is that they take themselves so lightly." --GK Chesterton
Zenister 0 #56 January 17, 2007 Definitely Maiden (Copying Derek Riggs work was some of my first 'real' artistic efforts as a kid.) Molly Hatchet gets credit for reusing Frank Frazetta, but i was never really a fan... No Place is Boris, as well as one of my favorite Metal Albums (still Troy Gregory is SUCH a better bass player than Newstead..) this Scorpions Album my mother REALLY hated I always thought Live Evil was cool in the way it reflected the songs on the album and i've always enjoyed the cover for Accidentally On Purpose (on of the best albums no one has ever heard of) although there are no album copies i'm aware of i have to give Tool credit for some of the most interesting CD covers of late.. they are on of the few bands who's CDs stay in jewel cases..(cant stand the things) heh.. good thread.. nice excuse to surf the net hunting for album covers..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Gravitymaster 0 #57 January 17, 2007 I always liked Budgie's album covers. Especially "If I Were Brittania, I'd Change the Rules". http://www.budgie.uk.com/discography-Studio.html
everymansaved 0 #58 January 17, 2007 Another who is a little young for vinyl, but someone told me that there's a mainstream band out there that has a freeflier on their CD. Does anyone know of such an album? EFS Sean LRGod made firefighters so paramedics would have heroes...and someone can put out the trailer fires. shropshire 0 #60 January 17, 2007 Same here .... I love Budgies music too. The covers were done by Roger Dean (of yes cover fame). (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome

Probably get more interest from this group if they knew Budgie did a song called: "Nude Disintergrating Parachutist Woman" on their 1971 album "Budgie" Another Budgie fan, eh? I'm starting to think you're OK.
shropshire 0 #64 January 17, 2007 <> Cheers mate... SC is SC!! I had a Budgie album cover for an Avitar for a while... Must be an age thing. I used to listen to them a lot when I was at school and sort of lost touch for years and found an old album in the attic recently. Regards, (.)Y(.) The111 1 #65 January 17, 2007 Some of my favorites, which probably not coincidentally are also some of my favorite albums. A few may seem sort of plain, but their correlation to the music inside is what makes them attractive to me.www.WingsuitPhotos.com

The111 1 #68 January 17, 2007 Anathema is doom metal. Opeth is black metal. At the Drive-In is indie (arguable emo). Mars Volta is basically modern prog rock. Pavement is the original lo-fi indie band.www.WingsuitPhotos.com
