mailin 0 #1 January 8, 2007 Let me preface this by saying, I didn't think I had arachnaphobia We have spiders in our finished basement - daddy long legs. Every few days we'll notice new 'webs' popping up in the corner of doorways and such... not a big deal - vaccuum them up and be done with them, until last night when I walked, face first, into a web in the middle of one of the rooms and go a spider in my hair. Words can not describe the horror I felt, or the scene I created. It was like the scene out of "The Birds" I had a horrible nightmare about spiders last night and seriously couldn't sleep - even thinking about it makes me itchy. I'm totally freaked out. I think the strangly warm weather has forced them 'out'. We don't currently use the basement other than the washer/dryer and keep it pretty cool as a result... but this weekend was the exception - 65 degrees! I called a few exterminators and they require $200 and only guarantee it for 3 months I found this on Raid's website: http://www.killsbugsdead.com/fop_fum.asp Do you think this will work? I'm terrified of my basement and I hate that... JenArianna Frances
masterrig 1 #2 January 8, 2007 I heard on Discovery channel awhile back, we are ALL, within 3-feet of a spider at any given time in our daily lives. Chuck

masterrig 1 #6 January 8, 2007 Quote And the average adult will have consumed on avg. 8 spiders in his sleep over a lifetime... _____________________________________________ Yes, M'am! Not to mention other little creepy crawlies. I have a good friend, who is deathly afraid of spiders. I could hold it back no longer and related what we have mentioned here, to him. I think, he is still in shock over that. He'll never be the same! Chuck

LisaM 0 #8 January 8, 2007 Quote Words can not describe the horror I felt, or the scene I created. It was like the scene out of "The Birds" HAHAHA! I was laying in bed a few months back and SOMETHING landed from above on my face. It was much like the scene you described. After I flung it away, we lost it (so I could dispose of it properly). Found it ON THE BED and I instinctively flung it again and lost it again. I had a hard time sleeping. But I found it later that night in the bathroom and he's in spider-hell right now. ~ Lisa ~ Do you Rigminder?

Jewels 0 #10 January 8, 2007 I have a friend who used to have a pet tarantula named "Kitty." For the most part, I'm okay with spiders but they are not welcome to share my bed. That's crossing the line!TPM Sister #

jtval 0 #12 January 8, 2007 when I was (16ish) younger I was in my mothers living room. I was sitting on thefloor against the wall with one of my hands propped up under mewhenI felt something roll across that hand. the sppider was about 6 inches long and fucking ugly as sin! I still dont know what kind it was but It was not a normal looking spider, (I'm pretty sure it was a brown recluse, which makesitworse becauseit was poisonous)My photos My Videos
justinb138 0 #13 January 8, 2007 Quote (I'm pretty sure it was a brown recluse, which makesitworse becauseit was poisonous) Brown Recluse spiders are pretty small, about the size of a nickel, doubt it was one of those if it was big.

turtlespeed 226 #25 January 8, 2007 Quote Wow. And to think we're taking care of an orb spider egg sack so we can have them in our back yard . . . Is it a golden? Those are fun to feed. The green ones tend to be a little more . . . tempermental for lack of a better word . . . but the golds, they sit there and have dinner with you if you want to, and get the (Moth, cricket, leaf bug, small grass hopper, average bug in the yard) food for it to eat and get it to stick to the web . . . man, it is fun to watch them eat . . . I attached a pic of a spider in the process of eating, but not a golden orb.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
