turtlespeed 226 #1 January 5, 2007 I am in awe! I have heard about gross incompetance, but never have I been so brutally bombarded with so much of it. Electric company: Called and scheduled temporary power for 15 Dec 06 . . . have called every other day receiving a promise of "They'll be out there tomorrow" every time I call. Today - I actually called the installation crew, only because I called in a favor of a friend of mine to give me the personal cell of the crew Chief. It'll be done today. Door manufacturer: Called Two weeks ago . . . 1 week ahead of schedule . . . to order the exterior doors for the project . . . Called one week later - on the last day possible - JUST to check and verify the order. "What Doors? Oh, those, Sure they'll be in on time. I said I'd like a signed verification so I can send that to my installers. That was two days ago and I finally called the plant manager yesterday to find out that the order was just finally placed - YESTERDAY! I still have yet to receive a call and a verification of delivery date. Metal Building Supplier: How, please tell me, do you mis manufacture an entire roof system? You have computer models and computerized cutting machines, and those machines were the reason the architect specified the manufacturer, I can see forgetting the two doors, but, HOW THE F**K do you miss the dimensions by 4' - 6 3/4" on one side and 3' - 3 7/8" on the other for the ROOF!? (7' - 9 5/8") Bonding Company: These guys are truly proffessionals. They submitted the first document to our office. Date and amount were wrong. Second submission: Date amount and signature were wrong. I sent it back lined in red with a circles, arrows, sticky indicator flags, and multi colored instructions on what was incorrect. Third submission - Amount Correct - YAY - date and signature still incorrect, and NOW the title of their own company was misspelled. I asked them if they would send me an editable PDF File so that I could correct their errors for them, they did, I sent it back. It came back correct this time - but they forgot to F****G SIGN IT! Can this be a coincidence? Or is it that the dumbing down of society is to this level? Signed, Frustrated P.S. We are talking about municipalities and national companies. It happens no matter what company you use. I deal mainly with furniture manufacturers, and have to tell you we have a few good ones, and lot of bad ones. Many don’t even know there own products. It is very frustrating dealing with people who just don’t get it. I have reached a conclusion that it does not have to do so much with pay but the personality. I worked with the same dedication that I do now when I was getting paid 5.50 an HR to make pizza. Some people just take pride in what they do. Your best bet is to go to the top man every time, and explain to him what’s going on. If he is decent he would make it a priority to make you happy and treat you fairly. If he is just as lazy and incompetent as the others are then maybe you should find another company if that is an option. But somehow they manage to fire the guys that know every aspect of the job and could run the entire operation by them selves. Probably because they get payed quite a bit more.
