jimmytavino 16 #3 December 30, 2006 happened here in Rochester N.Y. .... where usually....... not much happens..... But this young man has become an overnight sensation and a true local and national celebrity... (the triple A baseball team here had a "Jason McElwain Bobble Head Figure" night this past season and filled the place..) Jason has been interviewed a number of times, has met many dignitaries, and i believe he won an ESPN "espy" award... I recall seeing footage of him .... shaking M. Jordans hand that night......He is a WINNER... those shots are Real,, and he was banging those baskets Home....to the thrills and cheers of all the Fans.. note How enthused the Visiting team was, and how special that shared enthusiam HAD to be for this Young man... his parents, his siblings and for his community. ( "Greece NY " is technically a town, to the west of Rochester proper....and a BIG town in both square miles and population. they have 4 High Schools... Arcadia, Olympia, Odyssey and Athena... and there exist friendly rivalries, when the teams play each other.. so This was great, for hometown pride...) Certainly watch the video...more than once. ( it was shot by a fellow student, as i remember reading in the paper, and taken with a basic camcorder.... Lucky for the World.... that someone was there to document it...) We all must learn to find the Talent and the spirit In all children and students..... View Autism now,,, in a whole new way.. Nice post 1969912.....thanksRock On....Rochester.. and Best wishes in Life, Jason.... jmy from roch. It says a lot for his coach, the team and the town as a whole. Great story about Jason and the spirit within his home town. tashDon't ever save anything for a special occasion. I don't remember who sent it to me originally. The tandem is a sweet sentiment, but an Autistic may not be able to tolerate it. -Not that I'd ever want to put a limitation on Autistics, but that might be quite a stretch with such extreme sensory inputs. I considered trying my babies in a wind tunnel, but they can't stand it when the TV is too loud. I think the howl of wind would drive them nuts. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
