A new tent for the boogie season?

Recommended Posts

Yeah..........after spending 6+ years sleeping at the DZ on couches and in tents........It was time for a trailer. That being said......I have learned that the BEHEMOTH I have now is TOO big. When I get ready to do travelling I am buying a smaller one to tow. Around 20 Ft isn't that expensive and you can get some REALLY nice ones. If your budget is small just buy an older one that needs some work. No need to buy a new one and then have to rip out all the insides to redecorate PIMP style! :D

That would be cool and I see myself doing something like that in 5-10 years, but for now I'm selling the truck before March and my little VW couldn't really pull a red wagon much less a RV.:D

My Bantam B-19 Hybrid is really light, like 3500 wet. It tows at 19 feet and extends out to 25. It's a decent option for easy towing and reasonable space with the necessities (fridge, toilet, shower, stove, etc). That said, I think this will be its last year for me. I want to upgrade to a small but traditional slide-out. A buddy of mine has such a 25' Nomad, and it looks just about perfect...he towed it with his Dodge Durango without too much trouble (with an EQ hitch).

Oh hell no. My VW is nearly 34 years old. Much to my wife's "amusement" I refuse to sell it and am in the process of restoring it again.

I second that. I lived in a 30ft travel trailer for the last two years. I spent about two weeks of every month camping for work and people always wondered why I didn't just tow my trailer to where I was working. Cause it's a freakin' pain in the ass! It was a nice deal for a couple years. It got totaled out because of water damage from a leak and in the end, with my loan paid off by insurance I had spent a grand total of $630 for a place to live for the last two years.

Woo hoo!

Lesson learned - 30 ft. seems great, but if you actually plan on moving it, the extra space isn't worth the weight/hassle!

We have a trailer here at the DZ that's probably up for sale.

It's good on gas milage and it's fast too!
It's faster than the truck that was towing it! The owner didn't know that and was very surprised to see it pass him on the interstate.

Disclaimer:
Some minor damage to left side, right side, tongue, and two wheels.
:D
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

I bought a Eureka! this past summer and I LOVE it! However, its not quite big enough to stand upright in to dress. But like most others, I am more concerned about the floor space for my air matress so when I crawl back to it from the bonfires with a *lil* wastey face on I can pass out and sleep like a queen! ;)
