Why do items like jars of coffee and cans of Red Bull etc have printed on the back words to the effect of: "If your tired and driving, drink this and you'll be fine!"

Does anyone else think thats irresponsible?

If your tired and driving, find somewhere to stop! >:(

I just find it odd that sleeping tablets have warning labels saying 'may cause drowziness' for fears of legal repurcussions, yet Nescafe & Red Bull etc don't have a problem in encouraging tired people to drive using their product! :S

I might go and crash and sue the pants off them

Very irresponsible, don't they know how difficult it is to hold the wheel at the same time as the can!>:(

Maybe you open the can and another driver climbs out and takes over for you

That kinda made sense to me, so I went down to the store and bought a can of Red Bull. Look who popped out when I opened it! Somehow I don't think we'll be getting much driving done. At least, not on the highway. ;)

Don't you think people who blindly trust what they read on the back of a sodacan are slightly irresponsible too?

perhaps even up for a darwin award

I agree - plus the whole Idea of using insanely large amounts of caffeine to jolt you awake doesn't seem like the greatest idea in the first place - If your body isn't desensitized to the stuff in the first place, a can of coke should do it....
I try to watch the amount of pop I drink so I don't need a can of red bull if I need to burn some midnight oil...

I'm more afraid of the people who need warning labels... like "HOT" on McDonald's coffee to tell them not to stick a paper cup full of coffee between their legs while driving.
