bazelos 0 #1 December 29, 2006 Right, so I was thinking, there are a lot of people in these fora, unfortunately some get their rigs nicked, so why not make a forum "insurance" lottery, where whoever wants to participate pays in a certen ammount, then if his rig gets stolen, his name goes on a lottery draw with others, and whoever wins gets the pot in order to get a replacement. So for example, the HH opens up an account in any bank, he has access to the funds. Billy wants to be in the lottery because, hey, shit happens. So Billy sends 10bucks to the lottery account, the HH then puts his name on the list. Along with Billy, another 312 people sign up in the lottery by the end of the year. December 31st comes and out of these 312 people, five, including Billy have had their rigs nicked. The HH makes sure they are not just claiming this, he can cross reference with the DZOs of their local, has serials and photos of their rigs, and also puts this information to the stolen gear database. In case one's rig is found before the lottery, his name is taken out of the draw. Jan 1st the lottery takes place, Billy's name comes out gets a check with 3120$ but can only be used to buy a replacement rig. Jan 10th Billy is jumping again and the other four are sad because they didn't win the money I can't sleep and this just came up to me, what do you think? He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man. BillyVance 34 #3 December 29, 2006 The crwdogs have a fund for lost Lightnings. Contributions are usually $10 or so and when someone loses a Lightning they had to chop, and can't afford to buy another one, the crwdogs vote among themselves and give the poor bastard the money to help him or her get another canopy. Works great that way. It's why they're such a close-knit community. livendive 8 #5 December 29, 2006 Quotemy house inshurence covers my rig for everything but the Main being lost in a chop If you saw where the chopped canopy landed, and it's not there when you get there, the logical conclusion would be that it was stolen at some time between when you saw it land and when you got there.
