AggieDave 6 #1 November 27, 2006 Stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night (no, seriously, I'm only joking when I'm talking to a tandem student) and was super impressed by the new shower heads they're using. Its better then the showers in my house. http://www.hisuitestampa.com/facilities/bath-amenities.php http://www.designerplumbingoutlet.com/k10284.html Actually, overall I was really impressed. Just as nice as the Hilton I stayed at back in October (don't tell Stan for those who know him). Then again, this hotel was just opened back in August. If you're going to SD Dallas any time soon, this is the Holiday Inn Express in Sherman at hwy75 and hwy82. Indoor pool and indoor hot tub as well.Am I the only one out there that can't stand modern shower head designs? No water and no pressure, just a trickle of water that means it takes 10 minutes to just get water to touch your entire body at some point.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Carpediem 0 #2 November 27, 2006 I hate cheap showerheads. It's like you're just standing in a mist. That lowflow saving water idea is bullshit cause you spend 2-3 times longer ust trying to get all the soap off you. Aaaahhh there, good vent. Yes I can't stand those modern showerheads either Those who do, can't explain. Those who don't, can't understand.
JohnMitchell 16 #3 November 27, 2006 We have the low flow heads in our house, and I like them just fine. In fact, I dial it back a little when I shower for an even lower flow rate. However, I am the the Dad that Pays the Bills, so maybe that's why I like them so much.
AggieDave 6 #4 November 27, 2006 QuoteHowever, I am the the Dad that Pays the Bills, so maybe that's why I like them so much. My wife and I pay our bills, no difference there except we don't have any kids that would want to take a 45 minute shower. Our "kids" like to play with the water around the shower but won't get in (our "kids" are two cats). This shower head isn't a high flow showerhead, its not a "low flow" either. Its just really nice. I'm not sure that they'd let you try it out without renting a room, BUT next time you stay at a HIE remember the shower head.I kind of wonder about my parents and their home. The house was built sometime around 1981 or so. Great house. It has the original shower heads that put out literally the same amount of water as the bath faucet. That's got to be expensive. Its VERY nice to shower with, though. Very nice.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
ACMESkydiver 0 #5 November 27, 2006 I just bought a curved chrome shower rod from Home Depot to go in our master bath remodel. The sliding glass doors we were going to get aren't going to work with the tub I bought (oopsy! ) so I went with the curved rod. Meh, I can always move the cool rod to the kids bathroom if the contractor figures a way to put sliding glass doors over that funny tub. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. Twoply 0 #6 November 27, 2006 I agree with hating the ultra low flow/ misting shower heads. I'm all about not wasting water but I'm also not in there for more than 3 or 4 minutes. I almost always unscrew the whole head right off to get a realistic flow. The small perks to having enormous forearms.

ACMESkydiver 0 #10 November 27, 2006 Here is some real drool factor for 'dream' showers... Nice big shower Second shot of nice big shower Unfortunately I can't find a shot of the overwhelmingly ridiculously amazing Seattle Street o' Dreams home shower that was made to look like a small indoor forest. the actual shower was fashioned to look like it was cut out of a huge rock, had at least 12 shower heads, tropical and local plants, an atrium-type ceiling that led one to feel like you were 'out in the wilderness'...and too much more to remember or list. That was COOOOOL!!! ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.
AggieDave 6 #11 November 27, 2006 Sure, if you're a chick. Guys don't find as much enjoyment from a detatchable shower wand thingy to "clean" our "private bits." ACME, I'm sure that shower head setup costs well more then $60. Which is too bad, I've seen the "waterfall" showers with a huge waterfall thing as well as 12 shower heads that I would love to have. I'll build it once I win the lotto or Ed McMahon sobers up enough to find my house and knock on my door.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." matt1215 0 #12 November 27, 2006 I agree, cheap shower heads suck. My complex equips the bathrooms with these really cheap $5 low-flow heads. The head I replaced it with is a wide, flex-hose mounted wide head that flows straight down. That Holiday Inn Express head will definitely be considered for my second shower, along with one of those hose-mounted Shower Message heads that come with a masturbate setting . Zenister 0 #15 November 27, 2006 yea so they've upgraded the showerheads.. but did you have to stoop (or get on your knees even) to wash the soap out of your hair? saving the extra foot of copper/pvc pipe may make sense monitarily when you are installing 200 showers, but it makes for a poor shower experience for anyone over 6" PS dont put an expensive showerhead in the guest bath... or one of your female friends might 'break it' and use all the hot water in the process or better yet.. AggieDave 6 #19 November 27, 2006 Nope, didn't have to stoop down. Infact I had to reach UP to move the dial mechanism that serves as the outside rim of the shower head that changes the settings. ltdiver 3 #24 December 29, 2006 Just FYI for you AggieDave.... My shower head needed replacing, SO remembering your thread here and how much you touted this Kohler shower head to be the thang, I searched for this thread and ordered it. I'm pretty picky about the quality of water pressure my shower can deliver (lower water pressure that needs some help) and have been through several 'cheaper' shower heads in the past and know it takes alot of trial and error before getting it right. Started there....and saw how nice this shower head looks, so couldn't stop with just that. Ordered the complete shower set (sink faucet as well!).... Accepting donations for my spending spree now! Thanks alot! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
