I just received a letter in the mail today from Windows Casino Promotions with a very large check included.

Any other people out there get one?

They said it was a valid check.

Everything about it though points to a scam.

I get at least one of these a week though not from this group.

Its a loan with, as far as I've seen, ridiculous rates and by cashing the check you are accepting the contract as they have written it.

Someone asked the size of the check. A small FYI that I learned years ago... Anything can be passed as a check as long as it has all of the pertinent info that your official check has. You could, in theory, put this all on bar napkin (I suggest just giving her the phone number for now, check later in life) and give to the bartender as a check. They prolly won't accept it and the bank is gonna get a little fidgety but it works...

My Favorite I've done is with the 419 scams is giving them the adress to the Fraud department here in Toronto. The turnds have actuely sent fake money orders there

I called Dynatemp and they said don't cash the check. They said the scammers are sending checks to everyone.

Sounds like a common scan out of Haiti. They will send a valid check and mention fees. You cash the check and are lead to believe it's on the up and up. Then they request the fees and it gos back and forth until the sucker finally sends them a bunch of money. I've seen it work several times believe it or not.
