hjumper33 0 #1 February 10, 2007 Ive been jumping a crossfire 1 139 for a while now that was not effected by the service bulletin and has not been relined. It is about due for a reline, but will they change the trim on the canopy? I love how it handles now, and have heard people say bad things about the trim mod. billvon 3,070 #2 February 10, 2007 I had a crossfire 1 129 that I didn't like much. I did the brake-line mod and got much better flare power out of the canopy. I suspect a new lineset will change more than the brake line geometry though.
PesadillaK 1 #3 February 12, 2007 I have a Crossfire one 129 which was not listed as requiring retrim. I have been very happy with it. After about 450 jumps I decided to reline it even though it was behaving perfectly, but I thought the lines might have gone out of trim a little since it needed much softer input. After relining it just feels as good as new. The canopy is very stiff and I need more power on the risers. I expected to feel the toggles a bit long, since I remember that when new, I had a bit of an issue with that, but I don't feel that now. My rigger says that the line brakes were a bit shorter, so perhaps what was happening is that the canopy was not performing as it used to when new. In any case I like it and I recommend the line change (Even if they don't do a trim modification). When you ask for the new lines they will want to know your canopy's serial number in order to send the correct ones. Enjoy.Full Planes and Blue Skies Always!
