jeremy_o 0 #1 December 12, 2006 This is a hilarious sound clip of a customer calling Verizon... The guy was quoted .002 cents yet he was charged $0.002 and all the customer reps are like "yes, that is the same thing, sir" He got charged 100 times more than what he was quoted. http://i.thefairest.info/verizon_billing.mp3http://planetskydive.net/ - An online aggregation of skydiver's blogs. therealbonger 0 #3 December 12, 2006 that is really funny, and so easy to see the difference, those people at verizon were just saying the same thing, and calling cents dollars, way too dependent on that dang computer

headoverheels 333 #8 December 12, 2006 I have a friend who had a similar mistake in an adjustable mortgage, which he noticed at closing, but he kept his mouth shut. In that case, they documented the maximum adjustment as 0.01% per year rather than 1%. He started with a low "teaser" rate. After the first year, the mortgage company tried to raise by 1%, but he made them back off to 0.01%, as required in the documents that they had signed. Lucky for him, a no-neg-amortization loan. It worked out to his benefit for about 15 years, until rates dropped and he re-financed.
The111 1 #9 December 12, 2006 Haha, great story! So it seems most of our country cannot understand the difference between 1 and 100. More accurately, they don't understand that symbols used in monetary expressions are units. If I was an evil genius I would figure out some way to monopolize on this ignorance, and get rich... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
