That link has all the info you need on this. The cell phone directory is an opt in thing. You have to call and ask to have your number included in the directory.

I've been getting spam text messages for weeks now, 3 so far today. I've called Nextel twice and they keep telling me they are increasing the security on the phone. I don't know what is causing these calls, but I'm sick of it!

Yep i get those as well and it drives me nuts.

Try registering your number on the do not call list it might help. It took me 1min to do so.

It worked on my home #, but it didn't work for these text messages and Nextel told me that the DNC list wouldn't work on them.

I've been getting those to for the last couple of weeks. Not nearly as many as you but yea they are annoying
