ACMESkydiver 0 #1 November 27, 2006 Ok so really I am outside of the Emerald City, and in fact I do not know that my little town has a nickname at all, but we have snow in the NW. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. sdctlc 0 #8 November 27, 2006 J. My daughter is happy as we had school canceled today (North Kitsap)! What you got is not much snow but if the kids (i.e. you) are happy then yeah for you!! Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Scott C. North Kitsap...yep, that'll do it. My sons went to school 2 hours late because their bus got stuck on a sheet of ice. I ended up braving the slick stuff myself and hauled 'em off to class in the Suburban. No trouble at all; everyone on the road just took it slowly. I'm inside cooking and cleaning all day so it doesn't matter any to me. ~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. SpeedRacer 1 #14 November 27, 2006 yeah, I just did some research. Holiday Inn was another move that Bing Crosby did with Fred Astaire 12 years earlier. some similarities, but really a different plot. NWFlyer 2 #16 November 28, 2006 I am 30 minutes into a gate hold with no signs of moving thanks to this weather system. Apparently a couple of planes coming in to seatac got struck by lightning so they are (wisely) keeping us on the ground for now."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. JohnMitchell 16 #18 November 28, 2006 You're right. I was working the radar scopes earlier tonight, and Seatac was holding all flights out because of lightning strikes on final, which is really unusual during a snowstorm. We had them stacked up pretty deep all over the place, and more than a few flights diverted to Portland or Spokane. Luckily, we got things moving again when the weather improved slightly. I hope you got your flight out tonight. Sounds like a red-eye to the East coast. The snow helped the Seahawks bet the Packers. Woohoo! I'm supposed to drive Bret to the doctor's office in Federal Way tomorrow for a follow up visit, but if there is still snow everywhere, I'll cancel. I can drive in this stuff just fine, but most Washingtonians drive like ninnys in the snow.
CanuckInUSA 0 #19 November 28, 2006 Quote OK this shit can stop now..... there is over a foot at my house now..... I'll see your foot of snow and raise you a -40 F in windchill temperatures. A foot of snow probably won't kill you, but being exposed to -40 F for a prolonged period of time without proper clothing will. Global Warming my ### ... We eventually got out just over 2 hours late. What a messy evening at the airport!"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. All the schools are closed up tight! I couldn't pry them open with a crowbar! Looks like I'm going to have to dig out the squirt bottles and fill them with food coloring and water and let the kids go color the snow today! That should keep them busy. There is a lot of snow out there! Hopefully now that they are teenagers they will still want to do that!
sdctlc 0 #23 November 28, 2006 that food coloring and waterbottle is a great idea Valinda! I might have to do that with Skyler today. As of right now North Kitsap is only 2 hours delayed but I am not sure the solid sheet of Ice n the roads will melt enough for Busses. She was off yesterday though. Scott C.
