yardhippie 0 #1 November 17, 2006 This is not the short list but where Ive been focusing my efforts. There are a couple in there that just really dont compare to the rest, but hey, the EVO is one badass car. The STI aint no joke either, but it does come in a wagon. Im tired of reading reviews, looking at prices, weighing my options. I want a group of random crazies to weigh in on this oh so important of decisions. These are the rules: You can only pick ONE! You can only pick whats on the list. Every one is a manual transmission unless its not available. Everyone is AWD where available also. Cloth is preferred seat material. Autos are used 2003 to current, but not new, previously unlicensed vehicles, only vehicles labled as 'used'. I'd like to know WHY you'd buy it too. Have fun kids. simplyputsi 0 #9 November 17, 2006 What no An-2???? Accord v-6 the 2006, or 2007 model. You can't go wrong. It's got the horses, the look, and it will last forever. Not too bad on the mpg either. I have a friend with a 98 or 99 model. It runs like a champ and he has given it some hell. Has over 200k I believe.Skymama's #2 stalker -

angrypeppers 1 #11 November 17, 2006 I voted for the STI. I'm about to sell my highly modified F350 and will probably get a lightly used Legacy GT (Turbo 2.5 4 cyl.) or Outback with the 3.0 H6. Both have about 250 hp in a nicely designed, all wheel drive wagon. Either one will be a little over $20k for a 2005/2006 model.Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me. PhreeZone 20 #12 November 17, 2006 First one in the list of course! The new SI is just FUN to drive. I want to trade in my EX for an SI once I get it paid off and can pay cash for the SI. Nice milage, lasts FOREVER, great options on it, no end to the aftermarket parts for it and its fairly nicely priced. Get a 4 door and you can store a shit load of gear in it. I've got a 2 door coupe and store a large cooler, 2 sets of gear and a 5-6 man tent and some extra clothes in the trunk with out much effort in packing it. I've hauled everything from Screen doors to desks in it and it hold its all.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
jumpchikk 0 #13 November 17, 2006 I voted for the Honda Civic SI. I had a Civic, brand new off the showroom floor, loved it. I really like the new body styles of the Civics now...they are sharp and look like a mini Accord. I have a 2004 Accord, 4 cylinder, VTECH, 5 speed...I REALLY wanted the V-6, 6 speed...the determining factor for me was the insurance difference...anyway, that will be different with you because you are married. If they offered the Civic SI in leather with the amenities my Accord has, I would be trading in, in a heartbeart. Check out end of the year closeouts and demos once you determine what kind of car you want.

downwardspiral 0 #15 November 17, 2006 Honda Civic Si......great gas mileage. It'll last forever. You can personalize it with aftermarket parts. Maintenance won't cost you an arm and a leg like most of the others on your list. gonzalesna 0 #21 November 17, 2006 I only buy american made... everything else is a pain in my ass to work on so far that I've seen. I do all my own maint. though, so it's a little more important to me. I also only buy trucks... because who needs sensible gas consumption when you have enough power to tow your house or pretty much anything else for that matter???Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.
hisgoofyness 0 #22 November 17, 2006 I am driving my Civic SI to The Farm this weekend. Make sure and get there before the party starts and you can take it for a "real" test drive. co_sky_pirate 0 #25 November 18, 2006 The Accord, GTi, Civic Si, and STi are all great candidates. But I'm bias, cuz I prefer speed vs big-hunkin-pile-o-metal-SUV. If you must make me choose between those, that's easy. I have to vote STi all the way. I've owned an 03 WRX sedan for 'bout 2 years and looove it, but wouldn't neglect the STi wagon for a minute. Why? It will have good resale value, neck-breaking speed (woohoo!) combined with ample cargo space, proved performance, handling like a tank in the snow...and with layers of aftermarket add-ons how can you go wrong? Them Soobies are *so* much fun to drive. A buddy of mine has had his (02 I think?) WRX wagon since it was new and still digs driving the thing. It's got soul, hippie. But you know what they say about opinions and assholes... There's something about the smell of jet fuel, nylon, and adrenaline that gives me a huge boner.
