If you had a daughter who grew up and stripped in order to support herself during college so that you didn't need to help her financially, would you call that the choice of a strong independent woman? I highly doubt it. I am not saying that I hate strippers, but I really do feel sorry for them. I was pretty good friends with a girl who kept trying to get out of the business without much luck. I heard her stories about what it was really like there and that a number of the girls also did some prostitution on the side. I also saw the business as a factor in the decay of her marriage. I just don't think that people get into this business without having some issues, whether the issue was child-abuse, or having low self-worth and figuring that this is the only route in which they could make a liveable wage. And I certainly don't think that a career in stripping contributes to one's level of happiness.
