Pics of whats left of my Vibe

Recommended Posts

In one of the pics you can see the "frame" of my car which went under the right rear bumper of the Suburban. So, with nothing you could call structural to slow my inertia, is just crushed all that flimsy sheet metal.

I had to kick the drivers side door open to get out.

Im gald Im ok too. Now if I can just shake this cold before the Tiesto show tonight. Anyone got an extra ticket?

Shiiiiiit, Hippie.

Really goes to show how well modern cars are designed to protect their occupants. I'll miss the little Vibe. [:/]

"I can fix it dude, my dad has an awesome set of tools!";)

I love that quote. I hope to go out and do some test drives this weekend. Im gonna eliminate the higher end euro cars and brand new vehicles. I'll be looking for something used, but with a remaining factory warranty. If I budget well for this car I'll be able to skydive and travel more. That I want more than an awsome car. B|

A friend of mine just got rid of a two year old Subaru Forester,
he'd order a brand new one.

I took the old one for a couple days...and NOW wished I'd bought it...it's exactly what you describe!

I thought it was a 'nice' car, then read up on them....it's a GREAT car!

Toyota Hi Ace Van versus Cessna 182...
In terms of survival the Cessna won since the Toyota was declared a total loss while de C182 will be flying again next season, but in monetary terms it was a clear victory for the Toyota...

Highly experienced pilot (flies the turbine Porter) made a couple of mistakes when stepping into an less familiar type aircraft since there weren't enough jumpers to justify firing up the turbine one more time at the end of the day. Started the C182 with a bit too much throtle (and without the hand break fully pulled) in stead of reducing power he changed prop speed (two handles right next to each other) - effectivly making the C182 go faster into the parked Toyota in stead of bringing it to a halt.

(And yes, my first reaction was also: "This Cannot Be Happening - I'm Going Mad!!!" :S:S:S)

Goes to show that IF you screw up, likely it is not (as most of the more experienced tend to think) because of a set of outlandish and completely unforseeable circumstances - you'll be screwing up like a complete moron, just like the rest of the humans... :)
Behind that Van, there were people relaxing and sitting in the sun, anticipating a nice cold beer at the end of the jumping day, kids playing at their feet...

That Toyota served us well, I would say!

BTW: (for the monday morning coaches) The pilot was fully rated for both Porter and C182 and even did check out flights with Cessna's at his home base.

He just took his eye of the ball for one second...

True THAT!

I saw something similar a few years ago at an air show...
Someone had to prop their Cub and didn't have the wheels chocked. It burst to life and started to taxi away driver-less, went into Sean D. Tucker's famous Air Show Pitts and 'blended' the parts together!:S
