JohnMitchell 16 #27 November 10, 2006 I'm a coffee drinker, hot and black, not a latte or frapuccino or mocha drinker. DD is all I need. When I go to Starbucks, I just get a venti of French Roast drip. $4 is too much for a cup of coffee. I only pay that for a pint of Guiness.
champu 1 #28 November 10, 2006 QuotestarBUCKS is burned overated coffee you pay big $$ and get lousy coffee Absolutely agreed. As a black coffee drinker, I can't stand starbucks. They roast the snot out of it 'til it tastes like bonfire. Every so often I'll be in an airport wanting a cup of coffee and, my memory failing me, I'll stop by a starbucks. I really wish I'd stop doing that.
popsjumper 2 #29 November 10, 2006 I don't like DD. Too many cops there. An honest drunk can't drive in for coffee without getting hassled. My reality and yours are quite different. udder 0 #30 November 10, 2006 Neither make coffee fit for human consumption. And why in Italy is the coffee so much better than everywhere else? They live just as far away from the beans as everyone else, but the coffee is strong and smooth and delicious. Sweet boner inducing coffee. Not acrid and burnt like most of the shit served around here."In one way or the other, I'm a bad brother. Word to the motherf**ker." Eazy-E

PLFXpert 0 #34 November 10, 2006 Oops. You beat me to the punchline. This morning a gentleman--older, scruffy, dressed in a holey T-shirt and ragged jeans covered in paint--ordered, and I kid you not: A six-shot grande House Blend, please. I've never even heard of such a thing. They filled 1/3 of the cup with House Blend coffee and added six shots of espresso.Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. I have SB and DD both within walking distance but they are two totally different places. DD is bright with cafeteria style tables, etc. Starbucks has comfy chairs, good music playing and exceptionally friendly staff. I don't eat donuts anyway. In fact, since it's Christmas at Starbucks now , I'm now drinking a grande peppermint mocha/nonfat/no whip. It's still calorie laden though so this is breakfast for me. .
