L.O. 0 #26 November 6, 2006 there is no reason to stop. we here in Wi. jump all winter. Many think this is nuts but consider this, you go from a warm building to a warm airplane. Jump, open, land, then back to the warm building. This is a mater of only about 5 min. exposer. if you can dress for five min. of super cold your set. You leave little or no skin exposed and you will be fine. I have about 1000 jump done at 32 or less. I still love them and will never stop. Try it, then when summer comes and the people who take the winter off come out you look like a real hero.HPDBs, I hate those guys. AFB, charter member. MagicGuy 0 #28 November 6, 2006 QuoteNow that I think about it, what do you mean stay sane? You jump out of airplanes, don't you? HA! Sane in the sense that I can relieve some stress from work and other shit by making jumps on the weekends. Want to start BASE, still need some serious experience before I do, though. Trying not to rush into it (although I am really looking forward to it). Great White North Boogie is in the works. Got an email with some really awesome round trip rates through Southwest. Sounds like a good time!
livendive 8 #29 November 6, 2006 I no longer feel a need to jump when it's real cold out. I'd rather do other things and kind of enjoy the break...till early spring when I start looking forward to jumping again. Snowboarding, lots of good wine, cooking meals that take more than an hour, football, college basketball...there are plenty of ways to pass the time other than skydiving. DrewEckhardt 0 #30 November 6, 2006 QuoteSo, here's a question for all of you skydivers that live where the weather gets cold and skydiving comes to a hault for the Winter. What the hell do you do to keep yourself sane?!? I don't know what I'm going to do when I can't jump every weekend. I've been getting depressed just thinking about it. Let's hear some ideas! I plan on drinking beer. Lots of beer.
