What do YOU play?

Recommended Posts

Right now as I'm refreshing dz.com every 10 minutes, cleaning the house and making the walls shake with Lenny Kravitz's Greatest Hits on the CD player, (I want to get away, I want to flyyyy away, yeah, yeah...), it got me wondering what you all listen to.
So, what was the last CD you popped in your CD player?

I had some Sublime playing a bit ago, Reel Big Fish, Fugazi, dead milkmen , rhcp, sex pistols, and more sublime all on another cd compliments of napster, and a little offspring, made some sound loops and posted them at http://www.flashkit.com for flash movies.
have some cool funk/tech/house in the changer, that I got from http://www.zog.net.au/phonophunk/
when the cd's start playing again I listed to Z-93- classic rock, and a few other local stations.

I've been on a big Beatles kick the past 3 days, just listened to the '62-'67 and '67-'70 collections over and over. "I once had a girl, or should I say, she once had me?"
Before that it was RCHP's Blood Sugar Sex Magik - "I could have lied, I'm such a fool..." - and before that it was Moxy Früvous' Live Noise.
And the band played on,
As the helicopters whirred,
Drunk on the lawn
In a nuclear dawn
My senses finally blurred.
Nothing quite like a good drinking ballad!
Blues, squares,
PTiger
PS Right now I have Blind Melon stuck in my head:
"When you feel your life ain't worth living
you've got to stand up and take a look around you
then look way up to the sky.
And when your deepest thoughts are broken,
keep on dreaming boy, cause when you stop dreamin'
it's time to die."

slow afternoon - nothing much to do - I work nights, so I'm currently doing laundry, putting off my daily shower, cruising the posts on DZ.com... and listening to Jerry Garcia jam on "Evangeline." Just out of the cd player: Violent Femmes, Jimmy Buffett, and Bach's "Goldberg Variationen."
Been kind of an eclectic week. Need jump soon.
Soon.

I love Lenny Kravitz and have 'Fly away' on my AFF I video. I'm afraid to tell you guys what I'm listening to.... you'll think I'm old and boring probably. I've been listening to some Bruce Springsteen, Buffett (while I grumble about not getting tickets to his Labor Day weekend show), Tom Petty (while smiling about getting tickets... for some reason there were plenty available :)Blue 1111,

Lenny, a little Bob, some Sublime, and a lot of hometown San Diego/Southern California bands. Californians know what feels good, and they know how to sing about it. : ) Unlike what Orlando has been putting out (4 years of college in Daytona and I was on the first plane out of there)

They've all been on CD since my son got us banned from Napster.

Go to http://www.aimster.com Download the program. Install it. Commence searching and downloading...
Aimster works like Napster, just as easy to use, downloads seem to be a bit faster than through Napster, and the best part is.... NO FREAKIN FILTERS! ;)
As for what I've been listening to... downloaded almost the whole of Zappa's Joe's Garage Vol. 1 in the last few days (Crew Slut, Bobby Brown, Lucille has messed up my mind...). Currently loaded on my portable MP3 player (best b-day present this year - thx baby!) - the Flys, Incubus, Godsmack, Disturbed, Staind... With over 250 songs in my Music Match Jukebox I'm all over the musical map at my home computer; no sound card or speakers at work though...
pull and flare,
lisa

No CDs, but this is what's streaming in:
http://www.digitallyimported.com/
Euro-trance at shoutcast.com.
Oh, wait, there is a CD. Oh no, that's the Linux install disk, never mind.
There are some others hanging around here, I guess:
DMX - And then there was X
Solas (a couple of different ones - was thinking at one point about writing some trance with Irish reel structure)
The Coors
Art of Noise (yummy)
Pink Floyd - DSOTM (of course!)
Rachmaninoff Vespers (hung out with grandad, did more that the 3rd)
Jane's Addiction - Ritual de lo Habitual (did a couple of shows recently with Flea on bass - anyone see it?)
Tallis - Spem in Alium (mind-fucking 40-part motet!)
Brahms - ein Deutsches Requiem (rocks - got to sing this a few years ago, which was very cool)
You never know what you might find in my mind hahahahah!
Carl

Wow, there's an amazing variety of music taste here... I can tolerate pretty much anything except country music and the most hard-core rap (e.g. Ruff Ryders). Oddly enough that's the only stuff no one has mentioned....
Props to anyone who mentioned Buffett and Art of Noise! Thanks for reminding me; those two will be next into the player. And when I get home, I'm going to have to put some of my mp3's (over 3000 at last count - did I go a little overboard? ;)) onto a CD to listen to here. I wish I had an mp3 player like skybytch's, then I could burn my collection onto discs and bring it to work! Not that it really matters since I'm quitting in 3 days! Summer school, here I come!!
Blues, squares,
PTiger
*insert witty sig here*
