Male Birth Control Pill: Would You Use It?

Recommended Posts

I'd rather just chop his balls off....

I mean him have a vasectomy.:P

I was under the impression this drug was already available in other countries??? I could be wrong--it's been a while since I read something about it.
Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

Excellent!! Maybe they'll have the same side effects too? Like weight gain, increased cancer risk, blood clots, osteoperosis, stroke, multiple births... increased number of UTI's... :D:D

No, I reckone the introduction of the female hormones would likely only add size and shape to my he-hooters.

I'd look into taking the pill, though. Think about it, guys - no worry of pregnancy and your own set of 42 B's to play with!:)

Great. Now we have double protection. I see some women on this thread saying that they would not trust a guy to tell the truth about taking it. Do you think that guys look forward to unplanned pregnancies.

I would certainly take the damn pill. My own peace of mind.

From what I've read, there are very few side effects to the male pill, unlike the female pill; however, many versions in development also shut down testosterone production and require artificial testosterone injections.

I'm too much of a survivalist to take anything that would cause me to start developing female secondary sex characteristics, should the bombs start flying, the grid go down, the system collapse, and the supply of testosterone injections dry up. But I'd take a version that didn't require an outside source of testosterone.

Regardless, everything I've read says it'll be at least five years before hormonal birth control for men is available to the public.

I'd be really interested in how it works. But I agree with "I'm the one who would get pregnant...." line of thinking. No way I'd trust another person to take a pill regularly when I'm the one who'd get pregnant. On the other hand, for men who don't like trusting that women are taking their pills regularly, it might be a good option, depending on how it actually works....

What she said...this would put the responsibility and decision-making authority on both shoulders, as well as providing additional security and options for couples in which the woman's options are limited. I've been complaining about the lack of research into male birth control options since I first became sexually active, and would totally be interested in such a thing. Of course I am getting close to the age where it's almost too late for me, and likely won't impact me for more than a few years. But I like the idea of my daughter's SO and any possible future son of mine having such options.

Also, I think there have been a few different large-scale tests going in the UK in recent years, to include a pill, a shot, and something else...maybe a patch or implant type thing.

Side effects/schmide effects like your SO isn't already going to die 10 to 15 years before you after a life of busting his ass or chained to a desk every day. Get real!
