AggieDave 6 #1 October 20, 2006 Well, now that things have seemingly run their course in the public setting, I thought I would speak up. Having watched the IBAD thing flare up and then continue I looked around at who was doing all the posting regarding this heartless personal attack and noticed that it was all people that I hadn't met in the real world. The people, like Remi, that I had met at a DZ and have jumped with were stepping up and putting a stop to it. Thank you Remi, I do appreciate it. For everyone else, let me explain a little about myself and how I approach DZ.com. I've been on DZ.com since May of 2000. Also, during about 1/2 of that time I was a college student with no TV, so DZ.com was my only real form of entertainment in my dorm room. Those of you that have been around for a while know this and remember what I was like back then, which is relatively embarrassing; however, its who I was during a pivotal point in my life where I had a lot of growing up. Just like everyone else at that age. I'm sure that I'll look back in 6 more years and still smack my head at where I was compared to where I am at that point. That's a part of life. With DZ.com I view it as my entertainment. Even now, I don't watch a lot of TV, I get on the internet. There is a fairly large number of sites that I frequent each day. DZ.com is one of them. So when I'm not working or jumping, I'm on the computer playing around. So, make fun of me all you want. Its not going to hurt my feelings. Its not going to drive me away. Quite frankly I don't care. I'll continue to have fun in Bonfire, debate in SC and try to learn from others in the rest of the forums. If we haven't met before, I look forward to meeting you, getting to skydive then share some beers after sunset. If we have met before, I look forward to the next time we meet again, so we can skydive and drink beer together. BSBD: enjoy the company of those you meet while you can. One thing i can say is that your presence here is been not only welcomed but dz.com just wouldn't be the same without you. Your advice is sound, your head's always level and i believe the way you conduct yourself on the internet is very similar to the way you conduct yourself in real life: as a damn fine person. I brought it up in the Team Room and the Mods discussed it. We all agreed that it had to go, and Remi was the one to administer it. Quite unfairly, he took abuse for it in pm's. This gang mentality happened last year against another user. We are a community here and the Mods are not going to stand by and let a few people bully another person. As long as someone is posting within the guidelines, which Dave always does, he is as welcome to post here as anyone else. I'm sorry you were the brunt of this "joke", Dave, but I'm proud of you for taking it like a man by showing integrity and by not going down the same path as they did.
