SkydiveStMarys 0 #1 October 19, 2006 Ok, I need some insight to this problem...I have a camera phone and I also have the text messaging package, but one of my friends is trying to text me and send me pics, this friend also has the same capabilities on their phone BUT different carrier, neither one of us is getting our messages. Do you need to have the same carrier in which to do this? I didn't think you had to but what do I know?? BobbiA miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. snowslider 0 #4 October 19, 2006 the text messaging package and picture message package are different, you both have to have it setup on your plan. there was a time when you could only send and recieve pic texts from people with the same service provider, luckily for me and plenty others...they fixed that shit. d_squared431 0 #5 October 19, 2006 Yes, you need to have the same carrier to send pictures to each other. You can email them to one another thou-TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly

d_squared431 0 #8 October 19, 2006 Well as far as I know from personal experiences ....you have to have the same carrier.. Unless the two carriers share the same towers... So in a way we are both right TPM Sister#130ONTIG#1 I love vodka.I love vodka cause it rhymes with Tuaca~LisaH You having a clean thought is like billyvance having a clean post.iluvtofly

I have some friends in the cell phone biz and they say that's how things USED to be. How about you send me the pictures and I'll forward them to your friend? Gawain 0 #14 October 19, 2006 You can send/receive text messages across all the different major carriers (VZ, Alltel, Cingular, T-Mobile, Nextel, US Cellular). They all have inter-carrier and inter-operability agreements which permit this. I don't know if they have agreements in place which permits them to allow the transmission of picture messages from cell-set to cell-set. The last time I tried, I couldn't. It has nothing to do with whether a carrier is sharing a tower. Beyond the tower, it's all connected by wires anyway. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
