BillyVance 34 #7 October 2, 2006 Say, did anybody see that wacky final play of the Colts-Jets game? I caught it during the ESPN highlights, and shades of Stanford/Cal came to mind, except this one was much crazier, and ultimately failed in its goal. 4 laterals, a pass and two fumbles... Even more amazing, they say they even worked on it in practice! Yeah right, my ass... Even that wasn't a real passing game, it was just give it to #34 and let the best defense the game has ever seen pound the other side into the dirt. It certainly is the best passing game I think I have ever seen them have. Heh, I was pondering just before game 1 why Greise wasn't starting....boy was I ever wrong! I just wish Alexander was playing tonight to really put us on the map. After watching my poor White Sox choke, it's nice to have another winning team in town (esp one that knows how to beat MN)_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... airtwardo 7 #13 October 2, 2006 This defense isn't too shabby, either. *** It IS interesting to watch! Unlike 'most' Chi-Town Defences in the past, it's not all physical overpowering of the other team. These guys have speed and moves to go along with the brawn! In '85 they had 'some' speed, a LOT of muscle... But were the most dominate defence of that decade mainly because of Buddy Ryan's 4~6 defence set that used a before then unseen number of 'stunt' and 'trap' plays with 1/2 the defence lining up in areas of the field and taking a route not usually associated with the position that player played. I use to love to watch Richard Dent at defencive end running line backer routes one out of three plays! No offence could 'learn' to play against it, it was confusing and overwhelming. THIS Bear defence runs a mostly 'normal' set...they just do it better and fast than anyone else...SO FAR! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
