phoenixlpr 0 #27 April 5, 2007 Quote I assume the cascade lines would be the ones through the rubber band? My guess would be the control lines(2) and D-lines (2x4). We always gather 10 lines in the middle in flat packing. I remember 2 of them are connected to the slider stop on the stabilizers.
riggerrob 643 #28 April 5, 2007 Correct. We only wrap the rubber band around the top 6 inches of the upper steering lines. Wrapping the rubber band around some D lines is more of a BASE jumper trick ... more relevant when using a tail-gate. In conclusion, I doubt if the light rubber band holds the steering lines more than half way through the "extraction from d-bag" process. The primary function of the rubber band is to force packers to focus on steering line position just before they wrap the tail. This is another case of the military doing the wrong thing for the right reason.
flyhy 0 #29 April 6, 2007 I've used this method for 4 years now, about 3000 packjobs, and would never go back to anything else! it takes a while to get used to but then it's easy and it doesn't affect the openings! and most importantly: no chance for line overs, that should be reason enough! NWPoul 1 #30 April 6, 2007 H-mm I'd say it DOES affect the opening...Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
flyhy 0 #31 April 6, 2007 depends on the canopy i guess.. but all canopies I ever packed for myself or other jumpers opened just as they normally would...
NWPoul 1 #32 April 6, 2007 Quotebut all canopies I ever packed for myself or other jumpers opened just as they normally would... Indeed they did:) In my case both Wolmari and Pro gives "Normally" opening, but Wolmari openings are usually slower than pro...Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly? phoenixlpr 0 #33 April 6, 2007 QuoteIndeed they did:) In my case both Wolmari and Pro gives "Normally" opening, but Wolmari openings are usually slower than pro... Why do you think? Slider placement can effect opening, but folding the "ears" ??? You throw the ball od textile into the chaos of winds.
NWPoul 1 #34 April 15, 2007 Not think, but feelWhy it does affect opening? H.Z. why people say that psycho (also not change theslider's placement but only way, how the stuff folded and baged) does? Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
