TheGirlWonder 0 #1 October 5, 2006 Ok so help me wrap my head around this... A little while ago, I brought an acquaintance out to the dz who wanted to do a tandem. Did it, loved it, decided he had to go on to AFF. The day comes and he's pretty nervous, but nothing out of the ordinary. Anyways, long story short, he gets up on the plane and has a major panic attack, freaks out and doesnt jump. When I saw him on the ground he was so so pale and sweating and looked like he had just seen a ghost. Now he's super embarrassed and after he gets all of his gear off just wants to go home. So my day gets cut short, but I decide to be the good friend and take him home. ANYWAYS... so heres the kicker. A week or so later, Im hanging out at the dz late one night, and someone mentions something about the guy I brought out who freaked out on the plane. Turns out there was a rumor going around that he pooped his pants at the door!!! The person I was talking to insisted that it was true, but I still cant believe it, and dont want to believe that my friend pooped his pants. I'll never be able to look at him again without thinking about that. So my question is, I know theres the saying about being so scared that you shit your pants, but does that actually happen?? And if so, has anyone ever heard of this happening in skydiving?? Please say its not true...

When the bodies "Fight or flight" mode kicks in one of the reactions is to empty the bladder & bowels. As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into. Maybe Im over reactiing, but its been over a month, and I still cant think of him as my friend, without thinking of him as my friend who pooped himself skydiving! Rebecca 0 #8 October 5, 2006 Look at it this way: At least he didn't poop himself bowling or playing bingo. you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

VanillaSkyGirl 6 #11 October 5, 2006 That is so hilarious! See THIS tandem poll. Loryn, don't you think that it's possible that this is just a rumor? I've heard all kinds of crap (lmao) at various DZs that isn't true. If you were with your friend after his aborted jump, don't you think that you would know if he had pooped himself? I mean, wouldn't he stink? Btw, it's me, Rosa. (You are cracking me up!)

And if so, has anyone ever heard of this happening in skydiving?? Please say its not true... " A long time ago at a dropzone not far away I was flying the dropzone's new turbine airplane, now lodged in my memory as the Whirlwind. Following a little incident with a runaway propellor, I landed, rolled up to the hangar, and despite a gathering crowd of jumpers and management, found it imperative that I get to a toilet NOW! That was the day I learned having the shit scared out of you is NOT merely a figure of speech. Also somewhat surprising was the fact that my skinny carcass could hold that much shit. Fortunately, I made it to the head in time, but five seconds later would have been too late.Zing Lurks

I know bears do that when they are scared, even saw one on tv running from the rangers, effectively masking his trail with fresh poop Seriously, do you laugh every time you see that person? TheGirlWonder 0 #17 October 5, 2006 Oh my gosh you guys are all killing me LOL Thanks for the poll Rosa. I guess it is a possibility that it happened, but Im going to hope that it was just a rumor. Would it be innappropriate just to ask him... "Hey so theres a rumor circling the DZ that you pooped your pants on the plane... Is that true?" I wasnt on the plane with him when he went up for his jump, but I did drive him home. And that was my first reasoning as to why it couldnt have happened. But the person who told me the rumor said that he probably just went to the bathroom and threw his skivvies away
Broke 0 #18 October 5, 2006 There was once a tandem instructor at an undisclosed DZ who had an escapee on a ride up to altitude with a student. He though he had to pass gas, but something a little more solid came out. No I have never heard of anyone being so scared they boobed themself.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. TheGirlWonder 0 #23 October 5, 2006 QuoteAfter he came down, did he visit the bathroom right away? That would be a pretty obvious answer right there Yah that would. I dont know though because he went to the equipment room to get all undressed. I gave him space to cool down. Guess that was probably a good thing. Just being told about him pooping freaked me out. If I had actually seen it or smelled anything...EEEWWW!!!! I would have had to call him a cab and never talk to him again.
DJL 235 #24 October 5, 2006 We had a tandem who I'm PRETTY SURE shit himself. He was real quiet when we got on the ground, not really making eye contact, very introspective. Finally, when we were at the hangar the TM asks him "Are you sure you're OK?" He says, "...yeah...but I think I crapped my pants." We let him head to the bathroom before taking his jumpsuit off. When he got back he said he didn't but it wasn't the most honest body language."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
