councilman24 37 #26 April 6, 2007 Your right, my mistake. But that means that most of the PD Reserves, those made under TSO C23c, are technically illegal. Pretty much only TSO C23d reserves are legal. BUT, again the current PIA recommendation is to continue current practice because of technical errors in AC105.I'm old for my age. Spizzzarko 0 #27 April 6, 2007 The od is a comfortable rig. I own one, but I like the fact of the stronger reserve pilot chute spring on the vector. I own an infinty too. It is a good option too. If you don't go low then you will not need the skyhook.

2shay 0 #29 April 6, 2007 I am 6'1'' 220 and athletic build I own a vector. The problem I did have with my javelin is that it rode really high on my back even though the harness was well big enough for me. It made my pilot chute hard to reach, and I actually missed it once. I kinda took it easy on working out shoulders for a while, and I am pretty flexible so wasn't muscle bound. Just another thing to consider. Joeldon't try your bullshit with me!!! billvon 3,006 #30 April 6, 2007 >The problem I did have with my javelin is that it rode really high on my back . . . That's something of a characteristic of the Javelin. The lateral is generally attached to the MLW well above the hip junction so it rides a bit higher. Works for some people and not others. I've had reaching-the-PC problems on Javelins, and also on larger rigs that tended to loosen in freefall. One (an Icon) tended to drift so much that I'd have to grab the pack with my left hand to force it back down and over, then reach back with my right hand. Needless to say that put me somewhat head-down, which is not the ideal position to open in.

Spatula 0 #32 April 6, 2007 I just wanted to thank everyone for the advice, comments and suggestions. I'm going to step back a bit and do some more research before I make my decision. I've learned some excellent things about rigs I didn't know, and will now be able to make a more informed decision!

Hey, if you're criteria for jumping a rig is someone giving you it for free then you may be renting for a while, and color may be a preferable criteria. jee 0 #35 April 7, 2007 hey...i had the same thing happen to me! a bigger guy may want to consider an infinity because they seem to be a bit longer then even a vector and at least for me much easier to reach. (i own a vector 3 also, both custom made to fit me.) i am athletic 6' 220. i also cooled it on the shoulders at the gym. there is no worse feeling than reaching back and missing the hacky. is there 2shay?
