deeter 0 #1 October 6, 2006 Does anyone have a meatloaf recipe they really like? I'm getting tired of the same old loaf.
JENNR8R 0 #2 October 6, 2006 Here is one that I thought looked interesting, but I haven't tried it yet. Cranberry Meatloaf ¾ cup Whole Cranberry Sauce ¾ cup Dark Brown Sugar 1½ pounds lean Hamburger 1 pound lean Sausage 2 Eggs 1 medium Onion, chopped ¼ cup Ketchup ½ cup Milk ½ cup Oatmeal 1 teaspoon Salt ½ teaspoon Thyme ½ teaspoon Marjoram ½ teaspoon Ground Pepper ½ teaspoon Rosemary Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cranberry sauce and brown sugar in a small bowl. Line a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan with aluminum foil. Cover bottom of pan with sauce. In a large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Mix well. Place in pan. Bake for 2 hours. Let cool for 15 minutes. Carefully turn loaf out onto a serving platter. Drizzle pan juice over meat loaf the serve. pullhigh 0 #3 October 6, 2006 I was wondering if this thread was about the singer or the meal.... Both of which I like! The Cranberry Meatloaf sounds pretty good, but I hope some others post there recipes too. Ganja
Naomi 0 #4 October 6, 2006 This is my favorite meatloaf, I make it all the time. If you like A1 you'll love this recipe (I always end up using a lot more of the steak sauce, though). Ingredients: 1 1/2 pounds ground beef 1 1/4 teaspoons salt 1 egg 1 dash ground black pepper 1 cup soft bread crumbs 1/2 cup milk 1/3 cup steak sauce 1 onion, chopped 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, egg, black pepper and bread crumbs. Pour in the milk, 3 tablespoons of the steak sauce, onion and green bell pepper. Place the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape into a loaf. Brush the top with the remaining steak sauce. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until done. Allow to stand 5 minutes before slicing. Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding. deeter 0 #5 October 7, 2006 Ok, I chickened out on the cranberry. I kept thinking "savory and sweet", like pineapple in cottage cheese. Bleh. (But thanks for the idea!!) Found my carcass heading to the store for A-1....(reminded me of my Dad who loves the stuff!!) My god! A-1. Who would have thunk. Slapped some in me bloody mary, to boot!! Thanks!
