AMax 0 #2 April 9, 2007 Take is out, wash in a washing machine, dry and put it back. It is a little tricky to align the liner inside the helmet after taking it out. I use the inside pockets as a reference and always put the central piece last. Hope this helps.

The z1 liner is glued in place, unless they changed manufacturing procedures since a few years ago.
SuperGirl 0 #4 April 9, 2007 only the bottom part that goes on your neck is glued, but the inside padded areas can be taken out easily (they're velcroed in). or at least that's how it is on my z1

taron 0 #7 April 9, 2007 I would do like my motorbike helmet: no detergent, no washing machine. Only water and shampoo, let it dry away to "normal" air (no warm).

Hot water, regular cycle and regular "cotton" setting for dryer work well. The lining does not shrink a lot after machine washing and drying. Of course, you'll have to wash the bottom part manually since you cannot take it off.
